Position: Senior Technical Sales Engineer

Job Brief:

We are seeking a Technical Sales Engineer that has both technical expertise and soft interpersonal skills, including business acumen, presentation skills, customer relationship-building, engagement strategies and having a thorough understanding of the industry.

The right candidate will be responsible for guiding new API integration clients through the implementation process. The Technical Sales Engineer role requires the ability to learn client business models, adapt to their needs, work through unexpected hiccups and develop solutions using a deep knowledge of the XTRM API technology. This Technical Sales Engineer role will answer questions and work with other departments to identify potential use cases, risks and opportunities. This Technical Sales Engineer role should take a proactive approach in documenting and distributing knowledge, enabling customers in troubleshoot issues themselves, and providing training materials to team members in other departments.

Principal Responsibilities:

Become an expert in the operation and application of XTRM s platform and API s and its advantages over more traditional payment solutions.

Introduce new client technical teams to the XTRM API s, providing a road map and guiding them through daily communications through Slack and email.

Become familiar with each new client s payment flows to ensure compatibility with XTRM API and solution capabilities.

Establish an efficient line of communication with each new customer/prospect depending on their preference (typically a shared slack channel)

Answer questions and host calls to solve technical issues.

Review and certify client applications to verify the client has integrated the XTRM API correctly and have used best practices before they go live.

Monitor clients during sandbox phase in production as well as initial deployment on live.

Prepare and conduct product demonstrations for customer training as well as internal trainings

Troubleshoot failures and abnormal situations, creating records and providing feedback to the development team.

Provide support for business development during the sales process.

Identify potential opportunities and risks within customer business model

Provide ongoing technical account management

Maintain strong communications with internal departments to ensure accurate common understanding of each integration.

Help drive future product development

Experience and Skills:

Minimum of 2-5 years experience in a B2B technical support role or technical sales role, preferably for a Platform as a service or SaaS company

Technical solution expertise in a comparable pre sales/project manager role able to resolve moderately complex technical problems

Excellent organization skills and attention to detail required

Good written and verbal communication skills required

Must be a quick learner

Willingness to go the extra mile with customers and take initiative

Must have the ability to read and explain technical documents

Quick learning of API documentation


Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience required.

Working Conditions:

This role is fully remote, so you can be located anywhere in the US.

Job Type: Full-time position

Salary: $85,000 annually


Flexible PTO/Paid holidays/Health insurance for employee and dependents which is currently 100% paid for by the company, after the first day of the month following 60-days of employment. Stock options available.
