Job Title: Technical Business Analyst - HR
Location: Queens, NY
Job Type: Contract


Technology Business Analyst to lead business analysis for the corporate Human Resources portfolio of information technology initiatives, projects and operational needs serving 70+ personnel globally. This position, in the Information Technology division, reports to IT Executive Director leading technology for a group of global corporate departments. Projects cover a wide variety of technical deliveries including, but not limited to, digital, mobile applications, portals, SaaS, data warehousing and collaboration systems.  The initial project is for Corporate Learning, which includes a SumTotal upgrade and parallel Cornerstone implementation.

Job Description:

  • Responsible for managing all aspects of business analysis from discovery through successful delivery implementation for the global corporate departments, with a primary focus on Human Resources and Human Capital Management Suites
  • Proactively communicate and collaborate closely with leadership and business stakeholders to effectively understand business issues, challenges and opportunities and then details a digital solution approach best fit to the needs of the users and the company
  • Elicit requirements using interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, surveys, site visits, business process descriptions, use cases, scenarios, business analysis, task and workflow analysis
  • Builds and deepens trusted partner relationships with both business and technology teams across multiple office and remote locations
  • Drives business risk analysis and serves as the voice of the user needs within technology teams


  • Have a keen interest in continuous learning of the client’s industry, global emerging technology, corporate business and digital trends
  • Experience in project delivery for a wide range of digital, data, enterprise and portal technologies. Experience in Human Resources and Human Capital Management Suites projects strongly preferred
  • Able to understand technology concepts and deepen understanding through continuous self-learning
  • Can navigate the complexities of digital transformation in a large global organization
  • Works in close collaboration with internal technology teams & project management offices and external vendor partners


  • Successfully navigates initiatives with global reach, numerous stakeholders and localized functionality and language by geography
  • A proactive and strong communicator with good professional networking and stakeholder management skills that can influence across peers, teams, internal clients, vendors and other departments
  • Projects openness and leadership alongside the ability to establish credibility, trust and decisions
  • Expert client service and organizational skills, with attention to detail and strong facilitator of team and business meetings
  • Able to prepare and delivers informative, insightful and concise executive-level presentations and reporting
  • Able to clearly speak about technology solutions to non-technical audience


Job Requirements & Qualifications:

  • The business analysis should be well organized, able to quickly learn business acumen and understand complexities of working in a large global corporation.
  • Expertise and demonstrated success in business analysis, corporate systems and technology delivery. Experience with Cornerstone Learn, SumTotal Learn, Taleo Recruiting, Oracle HRIS solution preferred
  • Excellent verbal/written communication skills, interpersonal and presentation skills and proven ability to successfully work in a matrix, decentralized organization
  • Ability to tolerate and navigate occasional ambiguous environments
  • Must possess strong attention to detail and ability to coordinate multiple assignments simultaneously while prioritizing workflow effectively and independently
  • Exhibit strong time management, planning and organizational skills, be flexible to changes in deadlines and work focus, and be highly self-motivated
  • Ability to balance the day-to-day with longer term strategic thinking
  • Able to thrive in fast paced and dynamic environments
  • Experience in the beauty sector or consumer packaged goods strongly preferred
  • Post COVID, able to travel to multiple facilities or offices in New York City as needed
