DevOps Technical Manager
CoStar Group (NASDAQ: CSGP) serves up 60+ terabytes of data from 330+ SQL Servers spanning four data centers, two continents, and six time zones. Our highly motivated, extremely talented DevOps (Development Operations) group is growing furiously, and looking for a talented and experienced DevOps Technical Manager to help take us to the next level. Our goal is to provide an exceptional experience for our customers by continued development, refinement, and improvement of our industry leading applications.
The DevOps Manager is responsible for the deployment and support of systems within CoStar-s development, QA, and production environments. Duties include monitoring systems, identifying and resolving operational issues, and research, development, deployment and maintenance of production applications. In close collaboration with the software developer and testing teams, the DevOps Manager will develop the operational architecture of mission critical software products and automate the support and deployment processes.
*Manage and mentor DevOps Engineers by providing direction, developmental opportunities, and performance feedback.
*Establish performance goals for the team and perform annual reviews.
*Lead efforts to identify and build out necessary development, QA, and production environments
*Analyze and resolve problems associated with servers, hardware, applications, and software.
*Partner with developers to provide operational environment expertise.
*Be responsible for sections of a highly performant, stable, and scalable environment.
*Actively monitor system operations to maintain good system health, including application/system up time and remote diagnostics.
*Ensure that Client Services and other internal CoStar teams receive timely support for escalated issues.
*Hire and develop a team of -A Players-.
*Work with recruiting to identify, hire and onboard top industry talent.
*Drive continuous improvement within Scrum team by focusing on engineering excellence.
*Manage up or out any team members that are performing below expectation of position.
*Coach, motivate, train and retain -A Players-.
*Develop and maintain an in-depth working knowledge of the CRE Industry and CoStar-s position in the CRE market.
*Continually evaluate emerging technologies to identify opportunities, trends and best practices that can be used to strengthen CoStar-s technology platform and development practices.

*5+ years of experience managing a highly available (99.9%) public-facing, front-end web server / website, with a focus on configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
*3+ years expertise in F5, Web configurations, caching, and content delivery networks.
*5+ years background with the scalable and open architecture of IIS.
*5+ years monitoring experience tools like SCOM, OpenView, AppDynamics, NewRelic, Splunk, Nagios, Keynote.
*3+ years of experience with VM management, preferably VMWare.
*3+ years knowledge of scripting with PowerShell, or equivalent scripting language.
*3+ years, particularly TFS and GIT, as well as branching and merging principles.
*1+ years of experience with configuration and management of SQL Server Databases.
*1+ years expertise with OS and application installation methods.
*Understanding and experience with TCP/IP networking concepts and principles.
Additional desired skills:
*Experience with SQL (especially MS SQL Server), No SQL, Redshift, Cassandra.
*Knowledge of containerization (Docker).
*Experience with DNS, Load Balancing (F5, HAProxy), AWS ELB.
*Experience with automation and continuous integration.
*Experience working in a highly available production environment
*Systems and web security experience.
