Excellent opportunity for a Technical Project Manager with experience working in the hotel industry to join our Client’s team in Arlington, VA.
The PM will manage an IT development and maintenance project as well as lead a team of three (3) offshore resources, as well as five (5) USA based client resources.
The role is responsible for establishing, implementing, developing, and controlling best practices for IT project and process management throughout the organization.
This position is responsible for applying knowledge of specialized methodologies, techniques, principles, and processes of project audit/control necessary for the successful execution of both projects and services as defined in the IT Service Catalog.
This includes defining and documenting all processes to support project and service lifecycles in order to deliver projects according to plan and within budget, and services according to Service Level Objectives (SLOs). The PM will also provide consolidated reporting on project and service key performance indicators (KPIs).
Effectively communicate and manage project expectations to project managers, owners, sponsors, team members, and other stakeholders in a clear and concise fashion Determine frequency and content of status reports from project managers, analyze results, and troubleshoot problem areas/mitigate project risks Produce consolidated KPI reports on Project Portfolio and Service Catalog Develop best practices, techniques, and tools for project planning, execution, project management, ongoing milestone/deliverable tracking, communication, and key performance metrics Communicate project management standards and techniques to the appropriate staff Track and monitor all project milestones and deliverables.
Identify and manage project dependencies and critical path Accept and assess status reports, change requests, and requirements documentation to ensure smooth project progression Conduct project post mortems and create a recommendations report in order to identify successful and unsuccessful project elements Coach, mentor, motivate, and supervise new project team leads, team members, and contractors, and influence them to take positive action and accountability for their assigned work Auditing and controlling project management progress, processes, deliverables and documentation to ensure conformance with corporate policy, standard procedure and documentation based on project specifications
Required Skills and Abilities:
Education: BS required, MS or MBA helpful Must have PMP certification and formal training in facilitation
