The Opportunity:
Are you an engineer who wants to work directly with customers and use your technical skills to grow a business?   


Sterling Medical Devices is currently searching for a Technical Sales Engineer who is a self-starter with an understanding of engineering services (software, electronics, mechanical, etc.), a passion for delivering results, and contributing to our overall sales goals.

What your day will look like:

To leverage your knowledge of Sterling’s services and your technical expertise, to engage with current and potential clients, understand their needs,  and recommend solutions, you will:

  • Drive and manage relationships with existing and potential clients
  • Actively source sales leads
  • Maintain and update tracking activity in SalesForce
  • Proactively keep up to date with markets and competition
  • Partner with Marketing partner to generate marketing efforts for distribution to clients and prospects
  • Collaborate with engineers and support team to maintain expertise in engineering solutions
  • Quantify sales goals and projections
  • Prepare proposals and assist with estimates (as qualified)

What you bring to this role:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a scientific or technical discipline (e.g. engineering, math, computer science, physics)
  • Experience in a fast-paced business environment with an ability to adapt quickly to change
  • 2+ years Pre-sales/solutions engineering experience within life science environments: pharmaceutical, bio pharma, or med device
  • Strong understanding of hardware and/or software engineering
  • Strong customer service, analytical, and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent organizational, research, and multitasking abilities
  • Strong negotiating and problem-solving skills
  • Strong technical skills
  • Excellent active listening skills
  • Ambitious, self-starter with the ability to work independently
  • Medical Device and/or Regulated product development experience a plus
  • Experience and proven success in a sales role a plus
