We are opening a new Research & Development Center in Richmond and searching for Technical Managers who can take us to the next level.
CoStar's Technical Team Leads are responsible for architecture, project ownership and team leadership. You will design, develop, test, and launch applications and platforms that scale to millions and leverage terabytes of information.
Responsibilities
  • Know: Deeply understand what drives the business for which you are building software. We firmly believe that what separates a good Technical Team Lead from a great one is a deep understanding of the business that they are supporting.
  • Specify: Work directly with senior leaders in our Product Design and Research organizations to design applications that amaze your customers.
  • Architect: Use your experience to identify the best architecture and technologies to meet product requirements.
  • Build: Lead a team of software developers in building applications and platforms using the Microsoft Technologies (.NET and SQL Server)
  • Test: Work with your QA resources to ensure that the software you deliver is of the highest quality. (Our customers are not beta testers.)
  • Launch: Take complete ownership of product launch activities and coordinate closely with DevOps to monitor application performance and availability.
  • Measure: Continue monitor application metrics to ensure the expected results are being achieved.
  • Grow: Make your team and those around you better at what they do by (1) hiring and developing the absolute best (10X) developers, (2) setting clear team objectives and (3) providing concise, timely and actionable guidance to team members.

Skills & Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • A demonstrable track record of building and launching successful products that scale as needed and provide response times that can be measured in milliseconds
  • 5+ years of deep, full stack development experience
  • 2+ years of team leadership experience
  • Solid experience with C#, MVC, JavaScript (one or more of modern frameworks including React, Angular or Knockout), HTML/CSS, data access technologies and SQL Server
  • High proficiency in Agile development and testing methodologies (including test automation)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; Must be able to communicate at a level appropriate to the audience (direct reports, peers and senior management)
  • Ability to build and motivate high performance software development teams
