Global Asset Technologies, a subsidiary of Bering Straits Native Corporation is currently seeking a qualified Technical Writer for Department of Defense Network Services.
The successful applicant will be responsible for creating technical documents and manuals, explain complex information in a clear and concise manner and working with technical staff to ensure accuracy of all documentation related to device configuration, installation, setup, network survey, design, and implementation.
•Author, Plan, develop, organize, write, and edit complex IT network survey, migration, design and implementation procedures, plans, and manuals
•Research, develop and document technical design specifications and test scripts
•Produce electronic documentation in addition to hard copy
•Maintain a comprehensive library of technical terminology and documentation
•Analyze documents to maintain continuity of style of content
•Manage updates and revisions to technical literature
•Maintain schedules of multiple deployed networking teams
•Manage suspense system for all deliverables and ancillary documentation needs
•Interview and collaborate with stakeholders to capture, develop, and write technical documentation, migration/integration/implementation plans, flowcharts, processes, technical orders, SOPs, and more ensuring accuracy, readability, and ease of use
•Develop and write standardized technical tactic, techniques, and procedures
•Establish standards and document review checklists
•Understanding of project task-linked dependencies
•Excellent written and verbal communication skills
•Proficiency in MS product to include, but not limited to, MS Office, MS Project, and MS Visio
•Strong attention to detail
•Ability to organize and facilitate planning and demonstrations
•Ability to track, manage, and ensure project tasks are completed in a timely manner
•Able to write in explanatory and procedural styles for multiple audiences
•Skilled at prioritization and multi-tasking
•Experience working with DISA or other DOD agencies highly desirable.
•PMP or equivalent certification highly desirable.
•Bachelor's Degree and 3 years of experience or Technical/Vocation school certificate and 3 years of experience

Work Environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be borne by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
Job is performed in an office setting with exposure to computer screens and requires extensive use of a computer, keyboard, mouse and multi-line telephone system. The work described herein is primarily a modern office setting. Occasional travel may be required.

As a condition of employment, may be required to pass a pre-employment drug screening, as well as have acceptable reference and background check results to obtain access to military base. Must have reliable transportation to/from work a necessity and must be able to obtain access to military installations.
