Job Description

Our company is an IT Consulting, Web/E-commerce Development, and Custom Software Development firm based in Mclean, VA. Our commercial domestic and international clients are looking for candidates with the following skill sets:

Candidates with Food and Beverage, Retail, Life Sciences, Consumer Packaged Goods, Media, or Insurance industry experience are a plus.

- Work in close coordination with system admins, system owners, and cybersecurity personnel to create/update local policies and Standard Operating Procedure (SOP)

- Ensure the accuracy of the document reflects current policies and procedures
- Must be capable of understanding and clearly conveying technical information without sacrificing thoroughness and accuracy
- Obtain, analyze, and select the pertinent information
- Determine a logical and effective sequence for SOPs
- Prepare the material for publication
- Engage in multiply activities simultaneously
- Assimilate complex ideas and detailed information into easy-to-understand written, spoken and visual communications
- Write Certificate of Networthiness (CON) requests, Techniques, Tactics, and Procedures
- Create both high and low level standard operating procedures for IT technicians and end users.
- Write, edit, index, or revise a variety of technical documentation
- Collaborate with technicians, engineers, and managers
- Analyze developments in specific field to determine need for revisions in previously published materials and development of new material
- Draft economic analysis for potential IT Projects
- Support a mission critical, cybersecurity program, including developing and editing documentation related with security assessments of information systems. This program supports a Specialized Information Assurance and System Security Engineering program.
- Support a team of analysts, engineers and other security professionals who contribute to the development, implementation, and assessment of defensive measures and associated systems that protect critical infrastructure communities.
- Work directly with team of security engineers and analysts who conduct security assessments and testing to validate security controls identified by Security Requirements Traceability Matrix (SRTM) and Security Retirements Guide (SRG).
- Assess systems to insure compliance and reduce vulnerabilities.
- Assists with the creation of a number of technical reports and documents such a Security Assessment Reports (SAR), Risk Assessment Reports (RAR), Rules of Engagements (ROE).
- Develop standards for documentation to include templates with proper headers and footer, assist in the development of change management and revision control leading practices.
- Create and edit MS Word and Excel
- Editing and develop impactful Power Point presentations
- Establish the look to include fonts, headers, footers, content formatting of all program documentation to include standards and templates. Editing includes formatting, punctuation quality reviews.
- Work directly with the technical team to take technical data and incorporate it into a report/document in a way to present the information in a concise manager without changing the meaning the information provided. This often requires the writer to interview the Engineers, Assessors or Analysts to obtain the information and intended message.
- Work collaboratively with technical experts to gain knowledge
- Translate complex concepts and solutions into multiple types of documents (requirements, compliance, SOPs, test results, etc.)
- Combine disparate materials into documents that flow logically and speak with one voice
- Work with contributors to resolve content issues or gaps
- Maintain version control for documentation
- You will be part of the growing team of cyber security professionals in the delivery of services.
- Participate in meetings and reviews to keep informed and be prepared for writing tasks/deliverables from persons or groups within and outside of the program team.
- Assist in development documentation methodology and procedures, Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)
- Review system security and programatic documentation, recommend improvements
- Participate in the development or program related documentation
- Support the review and editing of all documentation prior to delivery to client.
- Support information system documentation to include:
- System Security Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) documents for performing assessments/security activities.
- System configurations for devices and software performing security-relevant functions
- Vulnerability and penetration test results
- Security incident reports
- System security performance metrics



- Excellent writing, grammar, proofreading, editing, and oral communication skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Office suite of applications to include strong competency with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook is a must
- Strong organizational and time-management skills required
- Proficient in developing and presenting, both verbally and in writing, technical information and presentations to non-technical audiences
- Strong background in compliance, reporting and tracking
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
- Understanding of Information Technology and Information Assurance.
- Superior interpersonal, communication, presentation, and writing skills.
- Expertise working directly with executive and senior-level clients
- Proven ability to effectively manage multiple work streams, competing requirements and multiple schedules and to facilitate coordination and reconciliation between different - stakeholders with the aim of delivering a comprehensive solution that meets and exceeds - expectations
- Strong desktop publishing skills utilizing Microsoft Word
- Experience with industry writing style such as grammar, sentence form, and structure.
- Strong initiative, detail oriented, organizational skills, aptitude for analytical thinking
- Ability to multi-task in a deadline oriented environment
- Demonstrated ability to work well independently and as a part of a team
- Excellent work ethic and a high commitment to quality



- Minimum of 2 years consecutive hands-on experience working Cybersecurity tasks/duties in a Computing environment
- Bachelor's Degree in related field or equivalent work experience
- Minimum of 2 years as a technical writer for hardware and/or software documentation
- Minimum 2 years of Microsoft Windows and Office experience.
- Hands-on experience with revision of all related technical documents, polices, and SOPs
