Perspecta has an immediate/upcoming need for a Technical Writer
Perspecta is currently conducting interviews to make contingent offers for an exciting potential new customer, the Department of Labor (DOL). Candidates with a current Public Trust clearance, and all other qualified personnel are encouraged to apply for immediate consideration. Under general direction, formulates and defines systems scope and objectives using information technology and industry knowledge/requirements. Acts as a liaison between customer and technical solutions/support groups to identify and document business processes, systems, and product requirements. Researches, identifies and develops solutions to problems. Analyzes business and user needs, and documents customer specifications. Supports aspects of the business cycle including proposals, feasibility studies, and implementations. Considers the business implications of the application of technology to the current business environment. Participates as a member of an IT technical team. Performs basic analysis of functional or service requirements using fundamental understanding of Information Technology (IT) Business process or problems. Partners with members of a given team or other IT teams as appropriate.QualificationsEducation and Experience Required:
Bachelor's Degree and 2 years experience or Associate's Degree and 4 years relevant experience or 6+ years minimum of relevant experienceKnowledge and Skills Required:
Good verbal and written communication skills. Strong initiative, problem solving, priority setting, and collaboration skills.
Skilled in wordsmithing/writing to develop, update and/or maintain product manuals, how-to guides, website help sections, technical white papers, process and procedure manuals, and other content that distills technical information with ease and clarity.
Experience providing quality of products that are delivered to meet or exceed established quality standards.
Able to understand and document "as-is environments" and keep documents up-to-date.
Assist team members with maintaining detailed and accurate network documentation including inventories, policies, procedures, configuration, network topology, etc.
Experience developing and maintaining documentation related to storage, network, messaging, monitoring, server, ITIL, etc.
Able to keep process and procedural documentation of all work activities up-to-date.
An Active Public Trust or the ability to obtain a clearance.
Experience working with Governmental agencies a plus
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, English, Communications is a plus
