What You Will Do:

As a Principal Consultant - Test Automation Engineer, you will do the following:

TeraThink is seeking an Automation Test Developer for a position in Falls Church/Lorton, VA to support the client to move to a set of Agile development practices to include Automation of Test in a Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery environment. Candidate must have a background in test automation, and experience with Web Application front-end and back-end scripting. Candidates that can coach using proven best practices with previous experience on Agile teams especially within Government agencies will be well suited for this position.

  • Work closely with developers, professional services team and product managers to define the automated testing components that will be used to validate requirements against developed software.
  • Work with team members and coaching them implementing proven best practices in test automation.
  • Fine tune test automation approach to optimize value add to customer by soliciting and implementing constant feedback through sprint cycles.
  • Assist with Scrum Team estimation of stories and sizing of effort to include the representation of the test automation and engagement with Continuous Integration (CI) required.
  • Contribute to an atmosphere of cross-functional teamwork within the organizations’ Agile project life-cycle.
  • Execute automated testing on both Web Front end and back end systems.
  • Run test validations at various levels including DB validation, rules validation, logging validation, and UI validation.
  • Mentor other members within and across teams in the company.

What We are Looking For:

  • The candidate will need to currently hold or be able to obtain a DHS Public Trust security clearance.
  • 5+ years of hands on automated test coding experience in creating functions, methods and programs.
  • 3+ years of experience analyzing, designing and implementing integration solutions using J2EE technologies or related technologies, and 4+ years overall IT.
  • 3+ years of experience in object oriented programming languages (e.g., Java/Python/Ruby/Java Script/VB Script).
  • 3+ years of experience with test automation tools such as JUnit, SOAPUI, Selenium (WebDriver), Behave.
  • 3+ years of experience with testing tools and techniques that are commercially available or that are OpenSource such as QTP, Geb, Cucumber, UI Path and Spock.
  • 3+ years of experience in using and managing change management tools, Git, Subversion, TortoiseSVN, and build server software (Jenkins/Hudson/Bamboo), JIRA.
  • 3+ years of experience with Functional Testing, Integration Testing, System Testing, and User Acceptance Testing phases.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a complimentary discipline.

What We Would Like to See:

  • A team player who will work closely with other automation developers to build/support Automation Framework.
  • Ability to handle ambiguity and a changing environment and implement solutions that show clarity of thought and bring order.
  • Experience on automation result analysis and generating automation result reports.
  • Experience implementing Behavior or Test Driven Development approaches.
  • Ability to work within a highly advanced test automation system that supports multiple daily builds on several distinct projects.
  • Ability to learn new techniques and technologies quickly.
  • Candidate should bring a data driven mindset to provide insights and continuously learn and adapt to changing needs and optimize value to customer.
  • Key technology experience in areas such as Java and/or C#, J2EE, XML, and SOA, REST,JSON, Python, Ruby.
  • Knowledge of change management tools, Continuous Integration tools (OpenSource or commercially available such as Bamboo or Jenkins), and Behavioral Drive Design (BDD).
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, constantly changing Agile environment.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Professional consulting experience and background beneficial.
  • Proven strong innovative and analytical ability with extensive implementation experience.
  • Flexible in working with team members at all levels of experience.
  • Supportive of the Agile methodology while understanding change requires gradual acceptance and implementation.
  • Fully competent to work under general direction on complex projects usually on specific assigned projects, issues and problems.
