Leidos is hiring a Unix Systems Administrator - active TS/SCI required in Suitland, MD. All work is onsite; an active TS/SCI is required to be considered for this role.
The HOPPER mission is to provide information technology services to fully enable ONI and the Navy to meet mission requirements. The ISC Operations (ISC-O) Department is an integrated workforce of civilians, active duty and Reserve Naval professionals who support combat operations and provide vital information for planning America's defense against maritime threats at home and around the world. ISC-N3 Operations provides Enterprise Operations support to the ONI customer community at the National Maritime Intelligence Center (NMIC) facility, to Department of Navy (DON) Sensitive Compartmented Information Facilities (SCIF) in the National Capital Region (NCR) and Contiguous United States (CONUS), and to shore SCIFs supporting commands subordinate to United States Fleet Forces (USFF) around the world, all on a 24/7 basis.
Candidate will routinely work independently to achieve critical mission objectives necessary to continue smooth operations for Hopper, and other internal and external agencies. Routinely will collaborate with different internal and external customers and other experts to develop technical solutions to problems that are complex and not always immediately identifiable in order to timely meet mission objectives.
-Maintain daily operation and problem resolution of hardware, operating systems and applications to provide optimum performance and system availability
-Develop and maintain configuration management documentation on all production systems.
- Perform system administration duties and responsibilities that involve analysis and evaluation of computer networks with primary knowledge requirements of information processing methodology, information technology, computer capabilities, and processing techniques
-Create, modify, delete, and document user accounts
-Install, rebuild, configure, maintain, administer and document Unix/Linux systems, software, system related products, hardware, peripherals, services, settings, directories, storage, etc. in accordance with standards
-Create, document and implement repeatable processes to install, test, upgrade, maintain and patch system environments and its software
-Troubleshoot and resolve system-related incidents detected during monitoring, by other technical teams, or reported by users
-Troubleshoot system connectivity and back up issues
-Work across IT functional boundaries (I.E. Other System administrators, SAN administrators, Network administrators, Database administrators)
Active TS/SCI clearance
BS/BA in IT related field
CompTIA A+ (CE) or Network + (CE) or SSCP
1+ years of experience in IS with specific focus on application administration
1+ years of experience with systems administration
1+ years technical experience/knowledge of installation, configuration, and security of server environment
Knowledge of Solaris 10 or newer Servers and workstations
Knowledge of Linux OS
Network technologies and protocols
Strong interpersonal skills and communication skills.
