Job Description Summary

Travelers is seeking a VP, Agile Delivery Practices to join our organization to grow and transform our Agile landscape. This position will report to the Personal Insurance Chief Information Officer, the Platform Customer Experience and Innovation Officer and the Enterprise Delivery Practices Lead. This individual will oversee and drive Agile practices across Personal Insurance (PI), partnering with senior leadership and key stakeholders across Travelers. The individual will lead a large team of Agile delivery professionals and will also be accountable for enabling teams to realize their OKRs and coach leaders at various levels. Will serve as a thought leader on Agile practices and scaling methodologies and effectively integrate both internal and external best practices and learnings to lead Agile growth in PI. Demonstrate courage to challenge and advise across multiple teams and levels of leadership, while assessing and enhancing the Agile maturity at an organizational and/or LOB level.
Primary Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • As a servant leader and change agent, you will be responsible for leading a team of coaches, building coaching, scrum master and product management capabilities within PI while role modeling Travelers' leadership behaviors.

  • Serve as an internal and external thought leader capable of coaching, influencing, and advising at various levels and contribute to growth of Agile leaders in various roles across the organization.

  • Collaborate with leaders and enterprise agile office to establish the standards for the chapter, influence the strategic decisions and deliver solutions.

  • Drive consistent implementation of a product-based agile culture including structure and org design, roles and responsibilities, training, and coaching plans.

  • Manage the intake and continuous improvement backlog management based on PI OKRs and business goals, product discovery and development, agile tooling and reporting, agile maturity assessments, and execute an ongoing maturity plan and support model.

  • Drive implementation of metrics to optimize delivery of business outcomes through the assessment of responsiveness, quality, productivity, and customer and business value.

  • Manage a large team of Agile practices delivery experts; oversee Agile capabilities across the organization, equipping individuals with the skills, tools, and approaches to deliver functional excellence as part of a cross-functional Agile team.

  • Actively engaged in the coaching, development and growth of the various roles at all levels across the PI Agile Community

  • Provides unique opportunities and challenges to each team member to enrich development. Ensures the strength of Travelers' brand while attracting top talent.

  • Fosters a culture of innovation and ensures the best use of resources by aligning and building strategic and collaborative relationships with key leaders across the organization.

  • Provide strategic thought leadership and approach to overcome impediments to accelerate delivery.

  • Lead Communications and Change Management Activities for Agile efforts.

  • Lead and mature communities of practices and interaction across the organization; continuously refine Travelers end-to-end processes to align with Agile principles and approaches.

  • Develop collaborative working relationships with multiple levels with a focus on agile transformation.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 6 years of Agile delivery experience required.

  • 8 years of business and/or technology related experience required.

  • 5 years of people leadership/management experience required.

Education, Work Experience, & Knowledge

  • Bachelor's degree preferred.

  • 10 years Agile experience preferred

  • 6 years of experience as a coach preferred.

  • 5 years of experience championing organizational change initiatives preferred.

  • 5 years of experience implementing Agile principles and practices in different cultures and environments preferred.

  • Demonstrates an in-depth knowledge of different scaling methodologies, product mindset and influencing senior leaders and executives to promote and apply agile mindset within the organization
