Job Description


  • Responsible for managerial (staff, quality, P&L), technical, operational, and administrative oversight and day-to-day management of the companies DoD Business Sector; serve as a liaison and continue to create a climate of technical excellence support to US Government leadership and management as appropriate, seek and develop outside funding sources.
  • Responsible for supervising and leading the team performing military space-related projects (initially this includes two MSCC task orders, L3Harris MOSSAIC, Qualis ITWAA, and ManTech DCO-S and SBIR contracts).
  • Develop and execute an executable business plan to substantially grow the DoD Sector by expanding existing MSCC task orders, expanding existing contracts, teaming with other companies, and finding and creating new opportunities such as SBIRs and procurements.
  • Manage, report and mitigate program risk
  • Perform and/or oversee the technical performance of the projects by performing studies, research, and analysis of US and foreign military systems, strategies, CONOPS and Combatant Command Operations Plans.
  • Perform and/or oversee military requirements analysis, threat analysis, system survivability analysis, mission performance and effectiveness analysis, force level effectiveness analysis, military utility and operations analysis, mission concept development, mission threads development, system architecture development and model-based system engineering.
  • Become familiar and systematically research a variety of engagement, mission and/or campaign models and simulations in a variety of domains (air, sea, land, space, cyberspace).
  • Develop and apply creative and innovative analytic solutions to complex problems with assistance and support from engineering staff
  • Assist in the conceptualization, research and development of astrodynamics software, models and operational capabilities
  • Summarize and synthesize larger pieces of work into effective executive summaries and executive briefings.
  • Effectively communicate with the president and CEO on all status, cost, schedule and performance aspects of DoD Sector. Coordinate and complete monthly status reports with the program leads.
  • Work closely with the program leads in coordinating efforts on their individual work plans to ensure that milestone schedules are met, and the quality of deliverables meet the intended government requirements.
  • Coordinate with Civil/Commercial and Cloud Computing Sector Leads to ensure optimal staffing for project success.
  • Influence decisions to provide sponsors with implementable recommendations. Effectively communicate with and engage colleagues at all levels of the organization.
  • You may have a supervisory role for teammates, which may include annual and periodic appraisal evaluations, timesheet reviews/approvals, coaching opportunities, etc.
  • Expand  presence on new projects by identifying and assisting in the pursuit of new business opportunities with a focus in military space systems engineering.
  • Assist in raising the bar in System Engineering practices and procedures by employing and developing system engineering artifacts such as requirements documents, design documents, test plans, processes and procedures, etc. Develop expertise and strive for excellence to bring value to our customers and clients.

  • Bachelor or Master of Science in Computer Science or related engineering discipline from an accredited college or university.
  • 10+ years of experience in the development and operation of space control, space security, resilience, and multi-domain effect
  • Ability to effectively grow the DoD Divsion (expand existing business while bringing in new business as well.
  • Prior professional experience in the space policy community, particularly around the development of space policy for space control and other areas relevant to space effects and resilience
  • Prior professional experience with the management of sizeable R&D / prototyping budget in classified arena, particularly with a mind toward disparate space effects
  • Familiarity with customer community, particularly NTK community working space control / effects
  • Demonstrated ability to manage prototyping programs in the national security space arena
  • Will need to be a US Citizen, and currently possess and be able to maintain a US DoD TOP SECRET /SCI clearance, to support this government contract, as well as successfully pass a drug and background check, in order to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
