Job Description

The V.P. of I.T. joins a team of executives that drive this established business forward. This Information Technology executive oversees critical initiatives on both the application development and infrastructure sides of the business as well as being a partner in the development of new products and services. Experience in supervision of application development, project management, strategic planning and systems/network administration would be expected. Interest in working in an established company with “start-up excitement” is desired.

 

What You’ll Do:

  • Develop and maintain a long-term enterprise technology plan with regards to corporate infrastructure.
    • Corporate Infrastructure including connectivity with remote offices, Network Topology and switching needs.
    • Craft solution leveraging both cloud and on-prem solutions.
    • Maintain active inventory of company assets with schedule for required upgrades.
  • Develop and implement IT policies and procedures.
    • Formalize IT Policies and conduct audits periodically on controls.
    • Manage business continuity plans.
    • Oversee organization security initiatives including policy creation and management.
  • Manage PC Support Help Desk Team and Application Development Team
    • Build and lead a high performing technical team of engineers and developers to manage day to day operations and future development projects
    • Develop performance targets and monitor performance against those targets and implement improvement initiatives
    • Develop metrics to staff appropriately based on key metrics.
    • Oversee network administration and maintain uptime on critical Applications and Systems
  • Evaluate and understand business objectives of corporate departments and communities to proactively recommend improvements for the organization.
    • Conduct regularly scheduled meetings with the executive team and board of directors
    • Based on meetings identify, recommend, develop, implement and support cost-effective solutions for these aspects of the organization.
    • Develop an Application Roadmap for future product enhancements
  • Oversee negotiation and administration of vendor, outsourced, and consultant contracts and service agreements.
    • Manage computer procurement process.
    • Build network of third-party vendors to assist with overflow and off-site operations.
  • Understand latest IT trends and be able to articulate impact to organization.

What You’ll Need to Succeed:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, MIS, or related field, required
  • Seven years of IT experience, preferably with Application Development, Project Management
  • Four years of supervisory experience required.
  • Extensive knowledge of Windows-based desktops, server and active directory.
  • Background in deployment and management of Microsoft O365 and Exchange Online\
  • Knowledge of HP and Cisco routing and switching equipment.
  • Experience with Meraki wireless access points.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to identify the root cause of problems and provide solutions.
  • Ability to write business plans to articulate required enhancements to environment.
  • Knowledge of SDLC and application development methodologies.
  • Exceptional follow up skills.
