Please note that this is a 1 year contract position.
The system administrator will be responsible for providing operational support at 3 different data centers, with 5 different environments. The system administrator will provide technical support in a production environment, and have working knowledge of the Windows, and automation suite, and VMware. The system administrator will perform complex operational tasks that include support of various types of applications used in a web infrastructure, analysis of the root cause of any problem issues, resolution of any application problems, and escalation of any irresolvable issues to the vendor as necessary. On-call and weekend work is expected, in support of a 24x7x365 environment. Local support of the data centers is required. Typical Duties: • General maintenance, troubleshooting and root cause analysis for administrator based incidents in the environment • Resolve all operating system, and hardware issues assigned to the team • Drive problem resolutions to ensure business continuity • Improve quality and ensure consistent and timely resolution of incidents • Implement necessary steps to prevent future incidents • Perform change management (CM) roles on all windows devices. Implement administrator change requests based on CM processes • Design and build all administrator solutions according to client requirements on time and within budget • Review and validate design of windows systems • Install, upgrade and maintain all administrator components • Document processes in accordance with the Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) requirements
Required Skills and/or Product Knowledge: • 3+ years of professional experience and a Bachelor of Arts/Science or equivalent degree in computer science or related area of study; without a degree, 3 additional years of relevant professional experience (6+ years in total). • Working knowledge of HP tools (HP Service Manager, HP Asset Manager, HP Reporter, HP Operations Bridge Reporter, HP Operations Manager I and/or HP OneView) • 2+ years of experience consolidating and consolidating information from multiple tools, systems or platforms into a single database or data warehouse in support of a common reporting solution • 2+ years of experience developing and presenting performance, availability and capacity related forecasts based on current utilization trends and new business demand • 2+ years of experience using, building, configuring & designing Reporting solutions utilizing 1 or more of the following applications or technologies: eBI, Informatica 9.5, SAP - Business Objects, Oracle DB, HP Vertica, CRDW, Qlikview IBM Datastage, IBM-Teradata, MS – SSRS, Cognos, Crystal Reports MS Access Any other equivalent ETL, DB, Reporting tools
