Description

SAIC is seeking a highly motivated, self-starter in the area of IT customer support of engineering activities as a Windows System Administrator. This role provides PC, server and equipment integration services for Engineering groups in a fast paced, fast response environment with a strong teaming and product delivery mindset. The responsibilities for this role include PC and server configuration as well as networking integration for equipment, computing issues, maintenance activities and equipment lifecycle management. The individual who fills this role will need:

• Windows OS PC/Server admin experience
• Background in IT support
• Familiarity with a variety of IT technologies
• Understanding of cyber security policies and directives
• Implementing controls on computing equipment and other duties as assigned
• Individual will be the point person for assisting with IT needs related to training

and communication technologies

Qualifications

Required Skills:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field or 4 additional years of

experience in lieu of degree
• Two to four years Windows desktop support including system setup;

application installation; troubleshooting; account management and general IT

systems maintenance and operations
• Two plus years of work experience using Windows server and PowerShell

scripting, installation, configuration, maintaining Windows 2008, 2012 and

2016 Server Operating Systems on a variety of physical/virtual hardware
• Experience maintaining Active Directory and configuring Group Policy Object

management
• Schedule performance of server maintenance actions during non-duty hours
• This job will require lifting of up to 35 lbs. unassisted. Equipment lifting devices

are available for heavier components
• Strong customer service abilities along with excellent verbal, written and

documentation skills
• Demonstrated experience applying technical acumen and domain knowledge

to facilitate the resolution of business, operational, technical and process

challenges
• Ability to function successfully in a fast-paced, relatively unstructured

environment, working on tight deadlines, highly motivated to drive activities to

completion
• A DOE Q or DOD T/S level security clearance is required to start
• Must be able to maintain a DOE Q level security clearance

Desired Skills:

• Citrix PVS experience
• VMware and vSphere
• Installing Adobe family of products, and Subversion version control
• Experience or familiarity with Nessus and Splunk.
• Evaluate systems and ensure security requirements are met
• Proactively address network, storage, or system performance issues
• Customer Service Desk experience is a plus
