A Financial Services and Technology company we are working with, is looking to grow their IT Service Operations team and currently has an opportunity for a Vulnerability Management specialist. This role is responsible for the overall management of security vulnerability and configuration compliance of the global Windows Server and VMware environment. The position will work closely with the IT Security team to develop and optimize the vulnerability management service as it pertains to Windows/VMware Infrastructure. This is a hands-on role, but does provide for some management responsibility. This position is fully remote at this time, but at some point in 2021, will involve going to the office in New York City or splitting time between NYC and their office in Central New Jersey.
Responsible for the security and configuration compliance of the Microsoft Windows Server platform and the VMware technology stack.
Ensure systems are managed to the highest standard by following industry best practice.
Demonstrate good problem management ownership and prevention of SLA breach under Incident/Problem Management processes (ITIL)
Maintain, develop and improve the vulnerability management service. Develop solutions and automated methods to reduce manual and repetitive tasks.
Represent the Infrastructure team and work closely with the IT Security team to develop/improve the process for vulnerability scans, updates and management.
Work closely with key stakeholder groups including IT Security to ensure appropriate levels of engagement and focus are maintained.
Provide leadership across the infrastructure team as an SME in vulnerability management.
Plan and implement technical changes without unexpected disruption to the service and with minimal oversight.
Create, maintain and review operational processes and support documentation.
Support and participate in scheduled Disaster Recovery events.
The successful candidate will have a solid background working with Microsoft server platforms and the VMware technology stack with specific focus on vulnerability and configuration management. This is a hands-on role combined with management responsibility.
Experience managing solutions, technologies and processes associated with vulnerability and configuration compliance in a Microsoft Windows / VMware environment.
Experience supporting production systems in an enterprise Microsoft Windows / VMware environment. (SCCM, Windows 2019, Windows 10 OS, VMware 6.7, VUM)
Experience delivering service improvement across technology products and operational processes.
Leadership and management experience of a small team (1+).
Experience working with ITSM systems such as Service Now and understand priorities and SLA’s.
Experience working with industry leading vulnerability management tools and configuration compliance tools (Qualys preferred)
Ability to collaborate effectively with other operational support teams to support the service.
Experience providing cross training on technologies and operational processes to colleagues.
Strong documentation and technical writing skills.
Excellent time management and organizational skills
Has knowledge of ITIL framework (understanding of Incident, Problem, Change)
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
Experience working in financial services sector.
Experience working with AWS
