Description

  • Provide support to either Project Manager or mid-level/junior Engineering/Science personnel in the areas of scheduling, data gathering/limited analyses, database population, preparation of technical/project reports, test reports, and associated documentation
  • Participate in test or project events as assigned by Project Manager or Engineering supervisor
  • Assist with On-Aircraft modifications and installations as required
  • Follow engineering guidance, technical orders, and drawings
  • Perform moderately complex assembly/test functions utilizing mechanical skills, hand and power tools, test equipment, and inspection measurement equipment in a manufacturing environment (OJT)
  • Perform and inspect wire terminations and wire harness assembly (OJT)
  • Produces and inspects assemblies that conform to customer product specifications (OJT)
  • Assemble, tests, and/or solders as required per customer and/or industry standards (OJT)
  • Perform electrical checkout of manufactured wire harnesses (OJT)
  • Document records identifying compliance with assigned tasks regarding wire harness manufacturing (OJT)
  • Establish, organize & maintain detailed inventory of government, customer and KIHOMAC property (OJT)
  • Train and assist other technicians on techniques and procedures
  • Lay out/assemble units for production according to designs, specifications and work instructions
  • Modify equipment by adding, removing, or altering components as per predetermined processes (OJT)
  • Maintain high ethical/professional standards of performance, demeanor, and judgment at all times
  • Participate in test or project events as assigned by Project Manager or Engineering supervisor
  • Observe all safety rules and maintains a foreign object damage (FOD) free work area
  • Maintain a clean work area
  • Work unsupervised at times
  • Report status and results
  • Some travel required.
  • Other duties as assigned


Requirements

  • Education/Training (both required and desired):
    • High School diploma required
    • Associate's Degree in management or technical/scientific discipline desired
    • IPC/WHMA-A-620 and IPC J-STD-001 Certification desired

  • Security:o Must be a US citizeno Ability to obtain a security clearance may be required
  • Experience:
    • 5+ years of professional experience in the required task area required
    • USAF Aircraft maintenance and wiring experience desired
    • Able to comprehend schematics, logic drawings, layouts, wire lists, and prints
    • Ability to use various hand tools, soldering equipment, and machinery
    • Impeccable organizational skills and attention to detail required
    • Basic understanding of electrical circuits required
    • Wire Termination experience required
    • Knowledge of cable assembly procedures desired
    • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively required
    • Basic knowledge or understanding of IPC/WHMA-A-620 and IPC J-STD-001 desired
    • Capable of standing for long periods of time
    • Able to work cross functionally in other areas as needed
