Connect Direct Operations Support

Position Description
CGI is hiring IBM Connect Direct Engineering Experts who can apply their knowledge in an application development environment.

Your future duties and responsibilities
The Connect Direct Engineer should possess the knowledge and skills to optimally deal with issues, challenges to develop simple applications solutions.

Installation, Upgrade, Patching of Connect Direct and Connect Direct SDK in Windows and UNIX.

Configuring Nodes, Users and Proxies, translation tables in Connect Direct for Windows, UNIX and Mainframes.

Troubleshooting solidbB related errors in Connect Direct for Windows.
SSL/TLS security certificates - Self signed and CA signed, Authentication procedures in Connect Direct.

Troubleshooting issues related to Connect Direct failures.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role
Extensive knowledge of IBM Sterling Connect Direct for UNIX and Windows and hands on experience in the same.

Knowledge of CI/CD tools like IBM UDeploy, Jenkins etc.

Knowledge automation framework/language/engine like ansible.

Basic understanding of UNIX and Windows Operating Systems and administration activities.

Basic Knowledge of Networking in UNIX and Windows.

Connect Direct Secure Plus - Understanding, Configuration and Troubleshooting.

Understanding of Connect Direct on Clusters.

Good Knowledge on Connect Direct Scripting for UNIX and Windows and JCLs in Mainframes.

Scheduling and automating Connect Direct transfers.

Knowledge of IBM Control Center for monitoring and Remote Management of Connect Direct.

Basic UNIX shell scripting.

Previous experience working in a Production Support environment.

Good knowledge of ITIL concepts and any hands on experience in ITIL tools, especially in Incident, Problem, Change and Configuration management areas.

Ability to communicate highly technical issues, approaches, etc. to functional/management staff and offer solutions to business problems.

Willing to support on call.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Nice to have but not required:

Other file transfer protocols like FTP/SFTP/FTPS/HTTPS.

Other tools like Sterling Integrator, Sterling B2B Gateway, IBM Connect Direct File Agent.

Windows Power Shell scripting.

IBM Certified Connect Direct Administrator and ITIL Certified.


Est. Salary Range (Colorado Only): $76,000-$105,000*
