The Opportunity

  • Seeking an innovative and passionate AWS API Developer with strong technical ability, communication, and collaboration skills to build and support Enterprise Platform using Amazon’s Managed Streaming for Apache Kafka (MSK).
  • As an Sr. Software Developer, you will be responsible for designing and building Enterprise APIs to grow and support the Enterprise Platform.
  • You will work with stakeholders, technology team leadership and subject matter experts to analyze, design, build and implement API’s/automation scripts needed to support the platform.
  • You will also oversee implementation, documentation, and integration of a variety of software platforms through the REST API framework, Lambda’s, and other AWS services.
  • The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment and enables us to deliver and improve on the product quickly.

The Work Itself

  • Develop and deploy components hosted on AWS cloud technology.
  • Build the Enterprise Platform using Amazon’s Managed Streaming for Apache Kafka (MSK)
  • Capable of API delivery end to end which includes Planning, Design, Development, Testing, and Delivery of API(s) and services.
  • Develop and deploy API policies using Apigee Edge Platform.
  • Understand creation and deployment of API first design strategy.
  • Build terraform scripts to deploy the platform / APIs in AWS
  • Collaborate with service delivery team members to ensure solid design principles and platform reliability, resilience, and performance/scalability.
  • Effectively communicates expectations, issues, risks, and decisions to product team.
  • Designs, develops, and prototypes cloud deployed services, APIs, and serverless “infrastructure as code” to enable business capabilities in alignment with the architecture direction and standards.
  • Ensure adherence to solid architecture guidelines and frameworks related to logging, authentication, security, error recovery etc.
  • Participate in an agile delivery process, and as part of that help size stories and own, research and recommend new solutions
  • Be open to learning new things, adapting, and mentoring others
  • Uses technical knowledge, creativity and company practices and priorities to obtain solutions to complex problems.
  • Interfaces with senior management to provide and obtain information and to build consensus regarding project direction.

The Skills You Bring

  • 3+ years of experience preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or other related discipline preferred.
  • Knowledge of all phases of software development including design, coding, testing, debugging, implementation, and support.
  • Object-oriented programming experience a must (Java).
  • Hands-on experience with AWS Technologies such as Managed Streaming for Apache Kafka (MSK), Lambda, ECS, EventBridge, Glue Registry and API Gateway.
  • Experience with Python or NodeJS a plus.
  • Experience writing and reviewing software design specifications in an object-oriented development environment.
  • Ability to thoroughly understand the business issues surrounding each project.
  • Ability to respond directly to questions from business clients.
  • Ability to be a technical authority and work with other team members.
  • Knowledge of standard change management tools and processes.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Advanced hands-on knowledge and experience
