Project Manager/Business Analyst, Workday [REMOTE]

Position Overview: The Workday Project Manager/Business Analyst will help to scope, plan and lead Workday improvement initiatives for the company. The role will partner with functional leads and stakeholders to define project scope, gather, define and document requirements, work with the technical resources to ensure they understand requirements and support the configuration in order to meet the requirements, coordinate project resources for testing, change management and deployment. This role will report to the Senior Director of Enterprise Applications and location is flexible.

Job Responsibilities:  

  • Project Management:
    • Lead cross-functional teams to successful completion of Workday projects on scope, on time and on budget
    • Manage project budgets so that projects complete on or under budget
    • Define project plans and lead team in execution of plans according to milestones
    • Lead weekly project meetings with project team to share status updates, ensure milestones are met, risks are mitigated, action items are captured/shared and barriers are removed
    • Coordinate resources in ITS, business functions, and vendors by laying out deliverables and timelines and following up to ensure tasks are completed on time
    • Communicate with teams, customers, users, vendors, and stakeholder to share information about the project scope, project status, technical specifics, schedules, and challenges.
    • Create and maintain high quality project deliverables throughout the project, including project documentation such as RAID logs, test plans, and user documentation
    • Establish and maintain stakeholder relationships by becoming a trusted adviser to project team members, leadership and vendors
    • Support project change management and communication thru creating organization readiness plans and create content to execute plan in the form of communications and trainings
  • Business Analysis
    • Serve as business analyst to facilitate the gathering of requirements for Workday projects and document the requirements
    • Translate business requirements into Workday specific configuration requirements for example, business process updates, security updates, reporting updates, tenant setting updates
    • Represent requirements to technical partners/resources in order to get projects configured for testing
    • Create testing plans and support system and user testing to ensure requirements are met
    • Be the liaison between the business units, technology teams and any services partners



  • At least 2 years of professional experience related to business analysis, project management, and experience in a technical environment managing the delivery of technology projects
  • At least 1-year experience project managing and/or business analysis Workday implementations or projects
  • At least 2-years years of functional Workday experience in HCM, Financials a plus
  • Experience using project management best practices and techniques in Agile and Waterfall methods
  • Ability to synthesize business issues into technical requirements, solutions and technical issues into business implications
  • Detail-oriented and familiar with best practices for testing and product/project lifecycle
  • Excellent relationship building and customer service skills
  • Experience working in an environment managing multiple, concurrent projects with shifting priorities, demands, and timelines 
  • Ability to listen deeply and communicate effectively both written and verbally to various audiences and various levels in the organization
  • Proficiency in MS Office, Project Management tools (RAID logs, Smartsheets, Trello)
  • Passion for working in a diverse, mission-oriented community
