Job Summary

This position's primary function is to build infrastructures code, software services (PaaS and SaaS) including security policies, in order to migrate all of LNRS applications running in our primary Alpharetta location to Microsoft Azure .

Responsibilities:

Technical (70%)
  • Delivery of resilient application stacks via "Infrastructure as Code" and other DevOps practices.
  • Diagnosis and resolution of complex system and application issues.
  • Write and maintain systems / application documentation for technical and non-technical audiences
  • Good understanding of defensive, corrective and detective controls and requirements

Customer (15%)
  • Monitoring and on-going support of critical, high revenue business applications.
  • Working with diverse technical and non-technical teams, including Development, QA, IT Operations, Customer Operations and Project Management teams.
  • Ensure 24/7 technical support and Service Level Agreement for customers is met

Support (15%)
  • Manage Customer Reliability Engineering Activities driving Application Monitoring, Metrics, Incident Reviews and Long Term Actions
  • Create and Support best practices for analytics and technology users
  • Work closely with developers to provide feedback and drive operational improvements within our infrastructure and processes

Skills & Competencies:

Advanced experience in the following technical areas:

Operations/Technical - 50%
  • Organize, secure, and automate existing infrastructure and deployments
  • Use of orchestration tools such as Terraform, Ansible or CloudFormation
  • Experience working with containerized workloads such as Docker and Kuebernetes.
  • Hands-on experience of Linux and Windows server including support and troubleshooting.
  • Professional Experience with common source control tools - e.g Git, SVN
  • Experience migrating application from on-premises to public cloud.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipeline and Blue-Green deployment methodologies.
  • Knowledge of change control and associated procedures.
  • Configuration Management tools - e.g. Ansible, Puppet, Chef or equivalents.
  • Experience with Log Management tools e.g - Elastic Stack, Graylog or Splunk
  • Use of Secret Management services e.g - Hashicorp Vault
  • Experience with any high-level programming language.
  • System and application monitoring - e.g. Prometheus, Grafana, Nagios etc.
  • Previous Analytic and troubleshooting experience is required
  • Professional experience of working within the public cloud - Azure, AWS or Google Cloud Platform.
  • Cloud Architecture and system design to solve key business problems and facilitate team goals.
  • Strong and enthusiastic technologist, able to demonstrate a broad technical knowledge
  • Ability to act as a point of expertise, advise others in the team on best practise and impart knowledge.

Development - 35%
  • Coding and scripting experience - e.g. Powershell, Bash, YMAL, Python or equivalent
  • Continuous Integration/Delivery Tools - e.g. Gitlab, Github, Jenkins
  • Cloud Architecture and system design to solve key business problems and facilitate team goals.

Analytics/Big Data - 15%
  • Experience with Azure IAM policies and automation tooling
  • Experience with large storage systems
  • Familiarity with different types of data permissions and role based access control implementation

Behavioral Skills (US only)
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to act as a point of expertise, advise others in the team on best practice and impart knowledge.
  • Strong and enthusiastic technologist, able to demonstrate a broad technical knowledge
  • The candidate must demonstrate an ability to work across departments

Experience & Education
  • 5+ years experience and proven background working in a SRE, dev-ops position.
  • BSc Engineering/Computer Science/IT Security or relevant experience.
  • Desirable - AWS / Azure Experience
  • Industry certification desirable
