Job Details

TEKsystems is looking for a mid-level Desktop Support Technician to join our team in Green Bay. This role is contract-to-hire and offers an excellent opportunity to grow within the company. The selected candidate will work closely with a more junior team member, providing guidance and support.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
  • Imaging and deployment with SCCM/Intune
  • Windows OS administration
  • Active Directory administration
  • Hardware support for PCs, peripherals, laptops
  • Break/fix and ticket resolution
  • Configuration of mobile devices such as scan guns, iPads, etc.
  • Application support
  • 20% project work, such as hardening printer protocols

Essential Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate and prioritize incoming tickets, calls, and issues to provide technical support and guidance to users.
  • Work with users to collect information to further investigate and resolve software, hardware, and peripherals issues.
  • Ensure tickets are processed in a timely manner.
  • Facilitate communication with the user and any other support teams.
  • Escalate tickets to level III support with a warm handoff approach as needed.
  • Call software and hardware vendors to request service when necessary.
  • Work within defined security procedures to maintain health by updating and running anti-virmalware scans, search and destroys of spam emails, and operating system updates/patches.
  • Ensure systems are adequately tuned, patched, and monitored to meet design specs at optimal levels.
  • Create documentation as needed for any new or changed project or technology.
  • Rely on experience and judgment to perform the functions of the job.
  • Exhibit a wide degree of creativity.
  • Participate in testing of new technologies or processes and provide feedback.
  • Become the subject matter expert on one or more technologies supported by the assigned team.
  • Follow project, testing, and implementation plans and project timelines.

Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications (Required):
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Must be able to work in the United States without sponsorship.
  • 2+ years of experience in the field or related area.
  • 1+ years of experience in an Infrastructure Support or Service Desk role.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team and follow established standards.
  • Knowledge of appropriate systems including but not limited to Windows Desktop Operating Systems, various brands of desktop, laptop, and other peripheral hardware, imaging and configuration of desktops and laptops, iPhones, printers, hand-held scanners, and other peripheral devices, a variety of application solutions (web, database, etc.), and infrastructure monitoring tools.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Certification(s) in area of specialty.
  • Associate degree in Computer Science or in an equivalent area of specialty.
  • Exposure to ITIL 2.0 framework is preferred.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $25.00/hr.
