General Summary:
You will be working on an industry-leading wireless research team responsible for the software development and deployment environment for next generation end-to-end prototype wireless systems bringing the future innovations to real life. This role will include working closely with expert software developers and leads on the latest generation of DevOps technologies to enable high-performance wireless software components running on Linux platforms that interface with other hardware sub-systems over interfaces such as PCIe/high-speed Ethernet and the cloud. Successful applicants will be creative, enthusiastic innovators who are equally comfortable producing and managing high performance & real-time host kernel images, developing container images, managing and optimizing system configuration, and designing and packaging platform software to enable rapid development/deployment cycles.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field and 4+ years of Electrical Engineering, Hardware Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related work experience.
OR
Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field and 3+ years of Electrical Engineering, Hardware Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related work experience.
OR
PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field and 2+ years of Electrical Engineering, Hardware Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related work experience.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineer, or related field.
5+ years of experience with computer architecture or embedded systems.
1+ year of applicable wireless, semiconductor and/or embedded software industry experience. environment
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineer, or related field.
5+ years of experience with computer architecture or embedded systems.
1+ year in a technical leadership role with or without direct reports.
1+ year of applicable wireless, semiconductor and/or embedded software industry experience. environment
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Experience with Linux kernel imaging and software packaging/installation tools, especially RPM/YUM
Experience with development, deployment and management of containerized applications using tools such as Docker, Kubernetes
Experience with automation tools for provisioning, configuration management tools such as Ansible
Experience with version control systems (e.g. git, svn) and CI/CD tools (e.g. Jenkins)
Knowledge of networking concepts (e.g. bridging, routing) and kernel programming, especially on Linux
Knowledge of system performance optimization, multi-core, multi-processor, multi-threaded development
Knowledge of device drivers, especially for high-speed data transfer
Knowledge of real-time and embedded software development for general purpose and heterogeneous processors including GPUs and DSPs
Knowledge of distributed systems and networking protocols
Knowledge of protocols such as 5G NR, LTE and 802.11
Ability to work in a fast-paced collaborative and diverse software team environment
Level of Responsibility:
Works under supervision.
Decision-making may affect work beyond immediate work group.
Requires verbal and written communication skills to convey information. May require basic negotiation, influence, tact, etc.
Has a moderate amount of influence over key organizational decisions.
Tasks require multiple steps which can be performed in various orders; some planning, problem-solving, and prioritization must occur to complete the tasks effectively.
