What you will do

Let's do this. Let's change the world. In this vital role you will independently conduct immune-related safety assessment experiments to support pipeline programs at Amgen.
  • Design, perform and analyze in vitro immune cell-based assays to support safety assessment of Amgen's Oncology, Inflammation, Cardiometabolic, Rare Disease, and Biosimilar pipeline programs
  • Perform a wide range of immunological techniques, including isolation and treatment of primary immune cells to analyze various endpoints, mixed lymphocyte reaction assays, multiparametric flow cytometry, and ELISA/MSD/Luminex
  • Support the development and validation of new immunological assays and novel technology to assess potential safety liabilities across therapeutic areas and modalities
  • Perform literature-based evaluations to contribute to project development and assay design
  • Function as part of a highly collaborative team, possess excellent organizational, written and verbal communication skills and demonstrate the ability to produce reliable and reproducible data
  • Present research findings to Translational Safety colleagues and across functional teams

Basic Qualifications:
  • Recent PhD or MD in the field of immunology
Or
  • Master's degree with 3+ years of research experience in the field of immunology
Preferred Qualifications:
  • The candidate is expected to have basic immunology training and strong cellular immunology and cell culture technical skills
  • The candidate should be able to independently initiate and drive projects, and intellectually contribute to project development
  • In vitro experience with cultured cell lines, western blotting, RNA/DNA isolation is preferred
  • The candidate has demonstrated a track record of independent critical thinking and scientific achievement in the area of immunology

The expected annual salary range for this role in the U.S. (excluding Puerto Rico) is posted. Actual salary will vary based on several factors including but not limited to, relevant skills, experience, and qualifications.
