Technical Project Manager for a Data Lakehouse project mostly remote

At CapB InfoteK we are looking for a Technical Project Manager who will be responsible for technical and overall project management for a Azure based Data Lakehouse project. This is a mostly remote project. However we prefer Local Denver or Colorado based candidates who can be at our office on an as needed basis, if required at all. Broadly the Technical Project Manager will

• Develop and maintain project charters, plans, deliverables, and other project artifacts.
• Lead and develop an effective team, directing the work of multiple individuals to reach project milestones.
• Professional certification (PMP or similar) is strongly preferred.

Qualification Desired Experience

This position must have strong technical knowledge in data management. The selected hire will be working on a team responsible for BI/Analytics, a data lake platform, data integration, data conversion, data quality, data architecture, data modeling, data literacy, and data governance.

Key requirements:

• Experience leading and managing projects for business intelligence and data warehousing, data lakehouse.
• Knowledge of both agile and traditional project management principles and practices and the ability to blend them together in the right proportions to fit a project and business environment.
• Experience defining project scope and schedule while focusing on regular and timely delivery of value; organizing and leading project status and working meetings; preparing and distributing progress reports; managing risks and issues; correcting deviations from plans; and performing delivery planning for assigned projects.
• Experience in team development while holding teams accountable for their commitments, removing roadblocks to their work; leveraging organizational resources to improve capacity for project work; and mentoring and developing team members.
• Experience assembling project plans and teamwork assignments, directing and monitoring work efforts daily, identifying resource needs, performing quality review; and escalating functional, quality, timeline issues appropriately.
• Sufficient technical experience with data management and analytics to provide highly credible leadership to technical teams and to be able to accurately and objectively evaluate complex project risks and issues. Also will lead Lead the development, design, and optimization of the client s Azure-based data lakehouse eco-system.
• Knowledge on Microsoft Fabric tool suite for scalable and secure data operations including data transformation processes, leveraging Azure SQL, Synapse, and Python scripts for ETL/ELT workflows.
• Knowledge Power Platform tools (Power BI, Power Automate, Power Apps) to enable business users with self-service analytics and seamless access to the data lakehouse.
• Ensure and manage the implementation of robust data governance policies and practices, including data security, auditing, and compliance with industry regulations.
