Role Overview

Pacific Life is seeking a Senior IT Project Manager with deep experience in both Agile and Waterfall methodologies, strong communication skills, and a proven track record in driving cross-functional IT projects. This role requires on-site presence in Newport Beach, CA up to 4 days per week and is ideal for a leader comfortable with fast-paced, dynamic environments in the insurance or financial services domain.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end IT project delivery using both Agile and Waterfall methodologies.

  • Facilitate Agile ceremonies, coach teams on Agile best practices, and support Agile transformation efforts.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including internal IT teams and third-party vendors.

  • Break down Epics into Features and Stories and manage the delivery lifecycle.

  • Monitor risks, issues, and timelines; report on KPIs and project health using PowerBI and related tools.

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives and foster a collaborative team environment.


Required Skills & Qualifications

  • 7 10 years of progressive experience in project and program management.

  • Expertise in Agile frameworks: Scrum, Kanban, and Lean.

  • Ability to break down work into manageable deliverables and track progress.

  • Strong skills in stakeholder management, conflict resolution, and cross-functional leadership.

  • Proficient in tools like Jira, Trello, Azure DevOps, SmartSheet, and capacity/resource planning tools.

  • High proficiency in MS Office tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint).

  • Working knowledge of PowerBI for reporting and data visualization.

  • Familiarity with IT infrastructure, cloud solutions, data, and enterprise software projects.

  • Bachelor s degree in Information Systems, IT, or a related field.
