IBM MQ SME
This is a Full-Time (W2) Remote position, but only accepting candidates that reside in CST or MST time zones. Full employee benefits, PTO, and paid holidays is inclusive to this position.

Salary Target: $115K- $125K/YR (Salary is flexible based on the relevant years of professional experience and background related to the position)
Requirements: ship Work Status Authorization; Public Trust Clearance or willingness to attain a Public Trust Clearance (enhanced background screen spanning criminal, financial, and drug); Completed Bachelor s Degree or 10 additional years of relevant professional experience in replacement of a completed Bachelor s Degree; Professional experience with IBM MQ on Unix/Linux servers, AWS Cloud Environment, change management tasks, incident management activities, and RHEL.
- IBM MQ is a must have (almost SME level)
- They need to have Linux/Unix experience supporting IBM MQ. Need to understand and have experience with system administration at the UNIX/Linux level to be successful
- RHEL specific experience required
- Experience working in an AWS environment.
- Role is 100% remote but they will be part of a on-call rotation. Evening/weekend support once in 4 weeks.
- Currently on an on-prem to AWS migration that s what this person will be part of.
Project Description:
This is an E-commerce position requiring a minimum of Bachelor s degree in computer science or related field or has equivalent work experience.
Must have strong administration support skills in UNIX (Solaris / Linux) and IBM MQ experience.
Individuals must be able to lead, implement, and support specialized business and technical information technology solutions.
Must be willing to work at nights and weekends.
Technical Skills and product knowledge requirements:
- Strong UNIX Solaris / Linux systems administration skills
- Strong Experience administering, migrating, installing, upgrading, and configuring IBM MQ
- Strong troubleshooting skills
- Experience with management of SSL, TLS, data encryption, and certificates
- Strong scripting experience (Shell, Perl, Python, Json)
- Experience with AWS environment and technologies (IaC, ECS, REST API. GitLab)
- Basic understanding of networking
Qualifications/Responsibilities:
- Support IBM MQ on Unix / Linux servers
- Install, upgrade, and maintain IBM MQ Servers and Clients / JMS components
- Support IBM MQ in AWS cloud environment (IaC, ECS, REST API. GitLab)
- Provide build support including troubleshooting, timely resolution, and root cause analysis
- Perform change management tasks. Implement change requests based on CM processes
- Perform incident management activities. Resolve incidents based on incident processes
- Has proven interpersonal, communication, organizational, documentation, leadership, and customer service skills
- Qualified applicants have a Bachelor's degree in a related area or have at least 10 years of experience in the field
- Demonstration of initiative and results oriented with flexibility and tenacity, and the ability to continuously adjust priorities to reflect changing circumstances
- Strong diplomacy, assertiveness, influencing skills with commitment and ability to work in a dynamic cross-organizational teams
- Strong dedication to provide quality customer service
- Ability to manage own projects including communications to customers as well as work as part of a larger operational team
- Must be willing to work nights and weekends
