We are expanding our team by adding a Senior Solutions & Sales Architect that will be based in our Reston, VA headquarters.
Summary
The Senior Solutions & Sales Architect serves as a pivotal technical leader within the Innovation Factory, bridging the gap between innovation, delivery, and capture. This individual combines deep architecture expertise with strong pre-sales acumen to design, articulate, and deliver modern, scalable, and secure solutions that advance federal mission objectives. The role requires both visionary thinking and practical execution-transforming innovative ideas into actionable architectures, proof-of-value prototypes, and deployable enterprise solutions.
Working closely with business development, capture, and delivery teams, the Senior Solutions & Sales Architect ensures that every solution is both technically sound and competitively positioned. They will contribute to proposals, technical roadmaps, and customer engagements, while maintaining alignment with enterprise architecture standards and customer mission priorities. Through this hybrid role, the Innovation Factory will strengthen its ability to translate innovation into growth, accelerating modernization outcomes and expanding the organization's technical impact across multiple programs and clients.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design, documentation, and governance of enterprise and solution architectures using tools such as Visio, Lucidchart, Draw.io, and Miro.
- Develop reference architectures, reusable patterns, and integration frameworks supporting modernization, cloud migration, and DevSecOps adoption.
- Translate innovation concepts and prototypes into actionable, scalable, and secure technical solutions aligned with enterprise and mission objectives.
- Ensure all solutions adhere to security, interoperability, and compliance standards across multiple customer environments.
- Produce high-quality technical deliverables-including architecture roadmaps, design briefs, white papers, and proof-of-value documentation.
- Collaborate with delivery, engineering, and innovation teams to promote architectural consistency and technical excellence.
- Mentor developers and engineers in solution design best practices, cloud-native architectures, and automation principles.
- Partner with capture and proposal teams to design technically sound, compelling solutions that align with customer mission needs and solicitation requirements.
- Author and contribute to technical volumes, solution narratives, and graphics for RFPs, RFIs, and white papers.
- Participate in orals preparation, customer demonstrations, and innovation showcases, presenting solutions in clear, mission-aligned language.
- Evaluate customer requirements and craft differentiated, value-driven architectures that highlight corporate strengths and Innovation Factory accelerators.
- Serve as a technical advisor to business development, providing insights into emerging technologies, partner ecosystems, and reusable frameworks.
- Support the creation and maintenance of a solution repository and innovation catalog for reuse across future opportunities.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or Information Systems
- 10 years of IT experience, including 5 years as a Solutions Architect or Sales Architect in a federal or other enterprise environment.
- 7 years of experience designing and delivering solutions across multiple technology stacks (e.g., Microsoft Azure, AWS, Google Cloud Platform, .NET, Java, Power Platform, APIs, containers, data analytics).
- 5 years of experience in architectural visualization and modeling using Visio, Lucidchart, or similar tools and translating complex systems into clear, comprehensible diagrams.
- 5 years of experience ensuring all solutions adhere to security, interoperability, and compliance standards across multiple customer environments.
- 5 years of demonstrated experience contributing to capture, proposal, and orals activities, including developing solution narratives and customer presentations.
- 7 years of experience with DevSecOps, cloud adoption frameworks, microservices, data integration, and AI/ML modernization approaches.
- Experience working collaboratively across delivery, innovation, and business development functions to unify solution strategy and execution.
- 3 years of experience in pre-sales or advocacy in defining, articulating, and delivering innovative, scalable, and secure solutions that align with federal mission or other enterprise priorities.
- 3 years of experience in presenting and advocating complex technical solutions to c-suite executives.
- Active DOD Secret clearance
Preferred Qualifications
- A Masters of Science or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, Information Systems, or Cybersecurity
- One or more of the following a P.E., CISM, CISSP, PMP, ITIL 4, Microsoft Azure and/or AWS Certified Cloud Architect
- 8 years of experience as a Solutions Architect or Sales Architect in a large federal enterprise environment.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills-able to tailor complex technical content for executives, business stakeholders, and technical teams alike.
- AWS/Azure Solutions Architect, TOGAF, SAFe, or equivalent certifications.
- 10 years of systems integration experience in the federal technology space
- 8 years of deep architectural experience with strong pre-sales communication skills to define, articulate, and deliver modern, scalable, and secure solutions that align with federal mission priorities.
- 5 years of experience in pre-sales or advocacy in defining, articulating, and delivering innovative, scalable, and secure solutions that align with federal mission or other enterprise priorities.
- An Active DOD Top Secret with SCI eligibility
