About the Team

The Software Engineer role is part of the NC2 Core Team located in San Jose, CA. This team embraces a culture centered around humility and support, ensuring that every member feels valued and comfortable. The mission of the NC2 Core Team at Nutanix is to continuously innovate and deliver high-quality cloud solutions that effectively address customer needs, fostering a collaborative environment where team members can grow together and develop their technical skills. The team is dedicated to learning and adapting to new technologies, ensuring they remain at the forefront of cloud infrastructure solutions.

You will report to a Senior Engineering Manager, who emphasizes a strong work-life balance and prioritizes the well-being of team members. The manager encourages an open and adaptive leadership style, focusing on mentorship and support to help team members thrive. The position is hybrid, requiring the hire to work from the office two days a week initially, with plans to adjust to three days in the near future.

There are no anticipated travel requirements for this role, allowing the new hire to focus on their responsibilities without the added burden of travel constraints. The position is designed to facilitate strong communication and collaboration within the team while engaging directly with customers on-site as needed.

Your Role

• Collaborate with team members to develop, test, and validate cloud solutions and features.
• Engage directly with customers to understand their needs and address technical issues effectively.
• Adapt and customize Nutanix offerings to meet specific customer requirements and challenges.
• Participate actively in one-on-one meetings, ensuring team members are supported and engaged.
• Learn and implement new technologies related to cloud networking and distributed systems.
• Contribute to the development of Nutanix Hyperconverged Infrastructure in cloud (NC2) and enhancements for customer use cases.
• Maintain agility in problem-solving and adaptability in embracing shifting project priorities.
• Foster a culture of collaboration and support within the team, aligning with the manager's vision for a healthy work-life balance.

What You Will Bring

• 8+ years of experience in software engineering or related fields.
• Proficiency in Python and Go programming languages.
• Understanding of distributed systems and cloud networking concepts.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to engage with customers effectively.
• Flexibility and adaptability to learn new technologies quickly.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as Google Cloud Platform, AWS, or Azure is a plus.
• High energy and enthusiasm for continuous learning and growth.
• Ability to collaborate effectively within a team-oriented environment.

Work Arrangement

Hybrid: This role operates in a hybrid capacity, blending the benefits of remote work with the advantages of in-person collaboration. For most roles, that will mean coming into an office a minimum of 2 - 3 days per week, however certain roles and/or teams may require more frequent in-office presence. Additional team-specific guidance and norms will be provided by your manager.

The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between USD $148,000 and USD $296400 per year.

However, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a sign-on bonus, restricted stock units, and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.

If hired, employee will be in an "at-will position" and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
