Senior Product Manager, Low Voltage Architecture

Hybrid: This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to the Technical/Innovation Center in Mountain View (CA) or Warren (MI) three times per week, at minimum. This position can be located at either of these 2 locations.

The Software & Services division of General Motors is responsible for defining and delivering the software, electrical hardware, and services that enable and support GM vehicles. From mechatronic infrastructure to OnStar connected services, and infotainment systems to autonomous driving - we are creating complete and compelling vehicle experiences for our customers.

About the Team

The Low Voltage Product team drives innovation and system optimization across various hardware components. The Low Voltage software ensures efficient power management while delivering scalable, data-driven solutions that support business growth and better user experiences. We focus on enhancing safety, reducing battery warranty claims, boosting energy efficiency, and improving customer experience.

The Role

We are seeking a dynamic, experienced individual to join GM as a Senior Product Manager, Low Voltage Architecture, with a strong focus on product vision and strategy development within complex global environments, and stakeholder alignment. This role requires a keen ability to foster relationships, navigate organizational dynamics, and lead teams to take ahead of competitors with modern technology and customer needs.

We are looking for someone who is passionate and knowledgeable about state-of-the-art Software-defined Vehicle Electrical & Electronic (EE) architectures, vehicle platform infrastructure software architecture, low voltage hardware (such as Li-ion battery, Fail Operational Power and DCDC), low voltage power management software, semiconductor & electronics, wiring harness, and is committed to delivering high-quality products that are both customer-centric and strategically viable for our business.

What You'll Do
  • Develop the vision for the next-gen low voltage architecture to achieve system level optimization from both hardware and software perspective
  • Develop, manage, and drive product initiatives across the organization
  • Contribute to the definition of the product vision, strategy, and roadmap based on customer needs and market trends
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure product goals and priorities alignment
  • Conduct market research, competitor benchmarking and competitive analysis to identify market opportunities and potential threats
  • Develop and manage product requirements, including customer stories, customer use cases, and business cases
  • Develop product strategy document for all the stakeholders across the company including senior leadership
  • Create and maintain product backlogs and prioritize product initiatives and feature enhancements based on business value, customer needs, and technical feasibility
  • Define and track key metrics using KPIs to measure product success and inform future decisions
  • Communicate product updates, progress, and plans to stakeholders across the organization, including executives, customers, and partners
  • Manage product launches, including developing go-to-market strategies and coordinating cross-functional teams to ensure successful product launches
  • Conduct post-launch analysis to evaluate product performance and identify areas for improvement
  • Continuously iterate and improve the product based on user feedback, market trends, and business goals


Additional Job Description

Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)
  • 3+ years of Product Management or development experience with infrastructure software, low voltage hardware or semiconductors
  • 3+ years of experience with platform or product related position
  • Must have led product development from concept to delivery
  • Strong communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to articulate complex concepts to all stakeholders
  • Bachelor's degree on Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience
  • Demonstrated expertise in writing, with the ability to effectively balance and integrate vision, strategy, and technical details in a cohesive narrative.


What Will Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications)
  • Experience with Electrical & Electronic architecture optimization for Software-defined Vehicles
  • 5+ years of Product Management experience
  • 5+ years of both hardware (low voltage components or semiconductors related) and software experience
  • Application of Safety ISO 26262 principles such as hazard analysis and risk assessment, and safety concept development
  • Previous responsibilities of collecting customer feedback and leading product improvement to enhance customer experience
  • Vehicle launch management experience


Compensation: The compensation information is a good faith estimate only. It is based on what a successful applicant might be paid in accordance with applicable state laws. The compensation may not be representative for positions located outside of the California Bay Area.
  • The salary range for this role is $131,000 to $202,000. The actual base salary a successful candidate will be offered within this range will vary based on factors relevant to the position.
  • Bonus Potential: An incentive pay program offers payouts based on company performance, job level, and individual performance.
