Job Title: ServiceNow Configuration Manager (CMDB)
Required:
5+ years of hands-on experience with ServiceNow CMDB and ITOM modules.
Strong knowledge and practical experience with ServiceNow CSDM framework and the IRE configuration.
Deep understanding of CI lifecycle management, including onboarding, modification, and retirement of CIs.
Experience with third-party integrations like AWS, SCCM, JAMF, and others for CI ingestion.
Proficiency in CMDB data modeling, CI class categorization, and relationship mapping.
Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills to manage data quality and Discovery issues.
Experience configuring and maintaining MID Servers and Discovery Schedules.
Solid understanding of ITIL v3/v4 processes.
ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA) certification is required to be eligible for this role.
Other ServiceNow certifications such as Certified Implementation Specialist -Discovery and Service Mapping are a major plus.
Position Summary:
Seeking a highly motivated and experienced CMDB Manager to lead the day-to-day operational and strategic oversight of our Configuration Management Database (CMDB). This role is critical to ensuring visibility, accuracy, and reliability of Configuration Items (CIs) throughout their lifecycle using the ServiceNow platform. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical expertise and a process-driven mindset to manage data integrations, maintain data quality, and support broader ITSM and ITOM initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in leading a comprehensive CMDB roadmap aligned with Montefiore's business goals and ITIL best practices
Define CMDB governance policies and procedures to facilitate high-quality data management for critical CI classes within the CMDB
In-depth knowledge of ServiceNow modules: CMDB, ITOM, and related features, including Now Assist
Own and manage the end-to-end lifecycle of critical CIs classes across Montefiore's IT environment.
Maintain and enhance the ServiceNow CMDB following the Common Service Data Model (CSDM) framework.
Experience with configuring and managing ServiceNow Discovery and patterns
Act as the primary stakeholder for CMDB related issues and drive a team of engineers to actively resolve issues
Training IT operations and infrastructure teams on CMDB procedures and best practices to help maintain data integrity
Knowledge of Amazon AWS Cloud Discovery
Monitor and improve the CMDB Health Dashboard, ensuring ongoing health and governance of the "3 C's" Completeness, Correctness, and Compliance.
Audit and validate CI data regularly to ensure appropriate CI class assignments, relationships, and attributes.
Oversee and optimize MID server health and ensure discovery schedules are accurate and up to date.
Manage and integrate third-party sources of CI data such as SCCM, JAMF, vCenter, and other infrastructure tools.
Ensure alignment with broader ITIL processes, such as Incident, Problem, Change, and Asset Management.
Validate Change Management workflows are accurately updating CMDB data for associated CIs
Develop and maintain documentation, dashboards, and reporting for CMDB insights and metrics.
Support audits, compliance, and risk initiatives by ensuring integrity and traceability of CMDB data.
