Description
We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented entry-level Network Engineer/Technician to join our team in Greenville, South Carolina. This long-term contract position focuses on optimizing network infrastructure within a manufacturing environment, ensuring seamless connectivity and operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will bring hands-on expertise in network upgrades, troubleshooting, and documentation, while collaborating with cross-functional teams to address compatibility challenges.
Responsibilities:
Install and configure wireless access points (WAPs), switches, and other network devices to enhance infrastructure performance.
Organize, remap, and document cabling systems to improve network efficiency and ensure proper labeling.
Troubleshoot and resolve compatibility issues arising from Windows 11 upgrades, including rolling back systems to Windows 10 as needed.
Develop and maintain detailed network diagrams and documentation to support scalability and standardization.
Perform regular diagnostics and maintenance on network connections to identify and resolve hardware or software issues.
Collaborate with manufacturing teams to minimize disruptions during network upgrades and adjustments.
Work closely with IT and operations teams to prioritize networking tasks aligned with production schedules.
Provide recommendations for infrastructure improvements and long-term solutions to compatibility challenges.
Ensure proper mapping and functionality of network connections tied to manufacturing equipment.
Requirements
Minimum of 2 years of experience in network installation, maintenance, and upgrades, ideally in manufacturing environments.
Strong knowledge of network switches, wireless access points, and cabling systems.
Proven ability to troubleshoot compatibility issues with Windows 10 and Windows 11 operating systems.
Familiarity with wired and wireless network protocols and infrastructure mapping tools.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to perform under pressure.
Certifications such as CompTIA Network+ or Cisco Certified Technician are preferred.
Experience documenting IT processes and network configurations to support scalability.
Understanding of manufacturing equipment integration with network systems.
