Job Title: Project Manager Intermediate
Location: Remote (Occasional Onsite Visits Required)
Duration: 12-Month Contract


Job Summary

Seeking an Intermediate Project Manager to support groundwater and hydrogeological projects within a public-sector environmental program. This role coordinates and completes complex project evaluations related to land application and groundwater monitoring sites, ensuring compliance with environmental permitting and regulatory requirements.


Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and complete hydrogeological project evaluations and feasibility reviews using electronic permitting systems

  • Review historical and background groundwater monitoring data for existing and proposed land application sites

  • Provide written technical review comments and recommendations to permitting and enforcement teams

  • Review and initiate groundwater monitoring plans and specifications for industrial and domestic wastewater facilities

  • Coordinate tasks with internal stakeholders and request intra-agency input as required

  • Maintain groundwater data collection, tracking, and storage systems

  • Ensure accurate project status updates in tracking systems and electronic permitting platforms

  • Provide technical information to the public and industry representatives as appropriate

  • Prepare reports and presentations for leadership on project status and outcomes


Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Proficiency with electronic permitting systems (e.g., ePermitting or equivalent)

  • Strong working knowledge of groundwater hydrogeology, geochemistry, contaminant transport, and investigation techniques

  • Understanding of environmental programs as they relate to hydrogeology

  • Knowledge of project management principles and methodologies

  • Ability to manage databases and utilize geospatial software

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to plan, organize, prioritize, and coordinate multiple work assignments

  • Ability to interpret and apply environmental rules and regulations

  • Experience with federal and state groundwater and wastewater permitting and compliance requirements


Required Skills

  • Completion of Power User training for an electronic permitting system

  • Expertise with ePermitting or an equivalent government permitting application


Education Requirements

  • Master s degree in Hydrology, Geology, or Geological Engineering with at least 1 year of related experience
    OR

  • Bachelor s degree in Hydrology, Geology, or Geological Engineering with at least 2 years of related experience


Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience performing hydrogeological reviews for land application and groundwater monitoring sites

  • 5+ years of experience managing databases and using geospatial software

  • 5+ years of experience with groundwater hydrogeology, geochemistry, and contaminant transport

  • Demonstrated experience managing multiple concurrent projects and driving successful outcomes
