A leading communication company dedicated to delivering secure, reliable, and innovative communication solutions worldwide. As we continue to advance our technology, we are seeking a skilled Defensive Embedded Security Engineer to help safeguard our embedded systems against evolving cyber threats.

As a Defensive Embedded Security Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining robust security measures within our embedded communication devices and systems. You will work closely with firmware, hardware, and software teams to identify vulnerabilities, develop defensive security architectures, and implement mitigation strategies to protect our products and infrastructure from malicious attacks.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and enforce embedded security policies, procedures, and best practices tailored to communication devices.
  • Perform threat modeling, risk assessment, and vulnerability analysis on embedded platforms and firmware.
  • Design and implement security features such as secure boot, encryption, trusted execution environments, and secure firmware updates.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate security controls into hardware and software development lifecycles.
  • Monitor and analyze security incidents related to embedded systems and respond with appropriate defensive measures.
  • Conduct penetration testing and code reviews on embedded firmware and communication protocols to identify weaknesses.
  • Keep up-to-date with emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and security technologies relevant to embedded systems in communication networks.
  • Create documentation, training materials, and security awareness programs for internal teams.
  • Support compliance efforts with relevant security standards and regulations (e.g., NIST, ISO, ETSI).
Required Skills & Experience:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
  • Proven experience (5+ years) in security engineering, preferably within the communication industry.
  • Strong understanding of embedded systems architecture, microcontrollers, and communication protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, LTE, 5G).
  • Hands-on experience with security technologies such as hardware root of trust, secure boot, cryptographic algorithms, and secure key management.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as C, C++, and assembly for embedded development.
  • Familiarity with common security testing tools and techniques, including fuzz testing and static/dynamic analysis.
  • Knowledge of threat modeling methodologies (e.g., STRIDE, DREAD).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills to work effectively across teams and explain technical security issues clearly.
Desired Skills & Experience:
  • Experience with IoT security or telecom infrastructure security.
  • Familiarity with Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS) and embedded Linux.
  • Understanding of hardware security modules (HSM), Trusted Platform Modules (TPM), and side-channel attack mitigations.
  • Security certifications such as CISSP, CEH, or OSCP are a plus.
The Offer:
  • Competitive salary and benefits package.
  • Opportunity to work on cutting-edge communication technologies.
  • Collaborative and innovative work environment.
  • Professional growth and continuous learning opportunities.
