Job Title: Propulsion Test Engineer

Location: Kennedy Space Center, Orlando, Florida

Duration: 9+Months

About the Job

  • As a Propulsion Test Engineer, you will play a critical role in the testing and servicing of spacecraft propulsion systems, with a focus on hypergolic propellants. You will develop and execute test procedures, lead technical teams, and ensure the safety and performance of flight hardware. This position requires hands-on experience with spacecraft fluid systems and a strong background in propulsion-related testing.

    Responsibilities
    • Author and execute detailed test procedures for spacecraft propulsion systems
    • Perform hypergolic propellant servicing in compliance with safety protocols
    • Conduct component removal, replacement, and re-testing on hypergolic systems
    • Lead leak testing and functional verification of spacecraft fluid systems
    • Operate high-pressure pneumatic equipment to pressurize flight hardware
    • Troubleshoot and resolve non-conformances on ground support and flight hardware
    • Coordinate with technicians, QA personnel, and engineers during test operations
    • Document test results and contribute to continuous process improvement
    • Support off-shift and overtime operations as needed

    Minimum Qualifications
    • Bachelor's degree in engineering, engineering technology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
    • 5+ years of experience in spacecraft propulsion-related fluid test engineering
    • Experience handling hypergolic propellants or servicing contaminated systems
    • Proficiency in leak checking and functional testing of spacecraft fluid systems
    • Experience operating high-pressure pneumatic systems
    • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional test teams
    • Strong troubleshooting and documentation skills
    • Willingness to work second and third shifts, including overtime

    Preferred Qualifications
    • Current Non-Destructive Test (NDT) Leak Test certification
    • Current SCAPE (Self-Contained Atmospheric Protective Ensemble) or SAR (Supplied Air Respirator) certification
