Location- Raleigh, Charlotte, Greensboro or Atlanta, GA (Onsite)

Workday Functional Lead - Core HCM

  • 5+ years of experience working with Workday HCM, including at least 2 years in a lead or senior role.
  • Proven experience with Workday Core HCM implementations and/or post-production support.
  • In-depth knowledge of Core HCM components: supervisory orgs, positions, job profiles, worker lifecycle, and security.
  • Workday certification in HCM preferred (Workday Pro or Partner Certified).
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
  • Lead the design, configuration, and deployment of the Workday Core HCM module
  • Serve as the primary functional lead for the Workday Core HCM module, including foundational elements such as organizations, supervisory structures, job profiles, positions, locations, and worker data.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to HR and business leaders on Workday capabilities, best practices, and configuration options.
  • Lead discovery sessions and requirements gathering for new or enhanced HCM processes
  • Translate business requirements into scalable and efficient Workday configurations.
  • Configure business processes (e.g., hire, termination, transfer, job changes) and maintain condition rules and validations.
  • Maintain organizational structures, supervisory organizations, roles, and security groups.
  • Partner with technical and functional teams to ensure seamless integrations with payroll, benefits, recruiting, time tracking, and other systems.
  • Identify process improvement opportunities and propose strategic Workday solutions.
  • Develop functional test cases and perform end-to-end system testing, including regression and UAT support.
  • Ensure data integrity and validate configurations in accordance with HR policies and compliance requirements.
  • Provide training, documentation, and change management support for system users.
  • Support organizational change initiatives related to HCM system enhancements.
  • Monitor Workday releases and manage the adoption of new features within the Core HCM domain.
  • Troubleshoot system issues and respond to service tickets in collaboration with HRIS and IT teams.
  • Maintain data governance and enforce security protocols and audit controls.
