Description

We are offering a contract employment opportunity for a Field Technician in the non-profit sector, based in Claremont, California. The role involves working with a team to prepare and execute projects, troubleshoot fiber wireless, manage UPS, and handle networking from core to IDF access point firewalls.

Responsibilities:

Manage and troubleshoot fiber wireless systems to ensure seamless connectivity

Conduct wiring closet work, which includes replacing switches and connecting patches

Perform tech refreshes and clean-up fiber tasks to maintain the quality of connections

Manage UPS systems for efficient power supply and backup

Conduct wireless surveys to evaluate the strength and efficiency of wireless connections

Work collaboratively with the team to prepare and execute projects

Handle networking tasks from core to IDF access point firewalls

Utilize skills in networking, OSP, patch panel, cable installation, cabling, fiber optics, switches, firewall, LAN - Local Area Network, and WAN - Wide Area Network

Maintain and update ticketing systems to track and resolve issues.

Requirements

Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Cable Technician in the Non-Profit industry or related field
Proficiency in Networking, OSP, Patch Panel, Cable Installation, Cabling, Fiber Optics, Switches, Firewall
Knowledge of LAN - Local Area Network and WAN - Wide Area Network
Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
Ability to manage multiple tasks and work under pressure
Must be able to lift heavy equipment
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
Willingness to work in various weather conditions
Flexible to work on weekends and during non-business hours as needed
Must adhere to safety procedures and standards at all times.
