Location: Austin, TX (Hybrid)

Candidates within Austin area: Onsite 2–3 days/week
Candidates 50+ miles from LBJ Building: Onsite once per month
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Data Analyst / Report Writer 2 with a strong background in Tableau dashboard development and advanced SQL. The role involves working closely with Product Owners, stakeholders, and BI/Data Warehouse teams to design, develop, and deliver high-quality analytical dashboards and reports. Knowledge transfer and documentation are key responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
Design and develop advanced Tableau dashboards (including Tableau Prep)
Translate business requirements into data models and BI solutions
Work with SQL Server, Oracle, DB2, and other relational databases
Perform data analysis, code reviews, and issue resolution
Collaborate with cross-functional teams in an Agile (Scrum/Kanban) environment
Prepare detailed documentation and conduct knowledge transfer
Present BI reports and insights to business users and leadership
Required Skills & Experience
✔ 5+ years of Advanced SQL
✔ 5+ years of Tableau BI report development (Tableau Prep included)
✔ 5+ years of Business/System/Data Analysis
✔ Strong experience in ETL, data integration, data quality, and dimensional modeling
✔ Experience with Qlik, Tableau, SAS or similar BI tools
✔ Strong understanding of application security requirements
✔ Hands-on experience with Oracle, DB2, MS SQL Server
✔ Experience working in Agile environments (Scrum & Kanban)
Preferred Qualifications
Python experience
Public sector experience (Federal / State / Local Government)
Proficiency with MS Office tools (Excel, Visio, Project, PowerPoint, Teams)
