Job Title: Systems Architect (Azure / Infrastructure)
Location: Remote- Tallahassee, FL.
Duration: 12 Months

Job Description:

We are seeking a highly experienced Systems Architect to support our clients' Office of Agriculture Technology Services (OATS) Infrastructure Operations team. The successful candidate will assist with the optimization of Azure workloads, migration of traditional workloads to cloud-native solutions, and support both on-premises and cloud environments.

The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in virtualization, Storage Area Networks (SAN), cloud architecture (Azure), and modern application hosting (e.g., containers, serverless platforms).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess Azure architecture for design and security improvements
  • Plan and implement optimizations for Azure environments
  • Assist with cloud migration and tenant administration
  • Support and maintain Windows, Linux, and Solaris servers
  • Design, deploy, and support VMware ESXi clusters and SAN infrastructure
  • Develop SOPs and technical documentation
  • Convert server-hosted applications to serverless (e.g., Azure App Services, Docker, Kubernetes, Azure SQL)
  • Provide ongoing support for infrastructure operations
  • Participate in meetings, reporting, and knowledge transfer activities

Required Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of IT experience in infrastructure design and support
  • Strong experience with Windows/Linux Server, SAN, and virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V, VBox)
  • Hands-on experience with Azure cloud administration
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Preferred Skills:

  • Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Alerts
  • Application modernization with Docker & Kubernetes
  • Azure App Services and Hosted Azure SQL
  • VMware ESXi cluster design and support
  • Data centre to cloud migration projects
  • Strong understanding of the Microsoft Azure ecosystem
  • Experience supporting both on-prem and hybrid infrastructure

Education & Certification:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field or equivalent experience
  • Microsoft Azure Administrator and Architect certifications highly preferred

Additional Information:

  • Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
  • Local to Florida or willing to relocate (hybrid/on-site work expected)
  • Schedule variance and time-off subject to approval by the contract manager
