THE POSITION
Job Summary
We are seeking a hands-on, technically strong Microsoft 365 and SharePoint Specialist to join our Global IT team. In this role, you will directly contribute to the architecture, design, deployment, and ongoing support of our enterprise Microsoft 365 ecosystem (including SharePoint Online, Teams, OneDrive, Power Platform, and related services).
As a trusted architect and technical leader, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the strategic direction of M365 adoption across the enterprise. You will ensure that all solutions are secure, scalable, user-friendly, and optimized for collaboration and productivity. This role requires a balance of deep technical expertise, solution architecture experience, and the ability to drive execution across global initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Architecture & Strategy
- Define and lead the global architecture and roadmap for Microsoft 365, with an emphasis on SharePoint Online, Teams, and OneDrive.
- Design solutions that align with enterprise standards for scalability, security, and performance.
Complex SharePoint Administration
- Deploy, configure, and manage complex SharePoint Online environments, including site collections, managing team channels, content databases, and advanced permissions models.
- Oversee tenant-level administration, service applications, and hybrid configurations
- Manage advanced features such as Content Types, Term Store, Information Management Policies, eDiscovery, and retention policies.
- Monitor and optimize performance, storage quotas, and service health across global SharePoint sites.
- Implement and enforce governance models, including naming conventions, site lifecycle management, and role-based access controls.
- Experience with the Azure portal and User Administration skills are a must. Experience must include user identities and authentication such as Azure Active Directory (AAD), Active Directory Federation Services (ADFS), Conditional Access Policies, Identity & Access Management (IAM), and MFA.
- Lead troubleshooting and root cause analysis for highly complex SharePoint issues involving performance bottlenecks, integrations, and security.
Collaboration & Identity Management
- Integrate collaboration tools with SharePoint, such as OneDrive, Teams, Power Platform, Viva Engage, Stream on SharePoint, Exchange, and Office products, in large M365 environments for a seamless user experience.
- Implement enterprise identity and access management (Azure AD, Conditional Access, MFA, Key Vaults) to ensure secure access and compliance.
- Establish best practices for secure file sharing, external collaboration, and compliance across the enterprise.
Execution & Delivery
- Plan and execute migrations, upgrades, and integrations with third-party and enterprise systems.
- Lead technical execution of global M365 projects, ensuring timely delivery and adoption.
- Automate administrative and operational tasks using PowerShell scripting and Microsoft Graph API. Must have hands-on experience with the Power Platform: Power BI, Power Apps, and Power Automate
Support & Adoption
- Serve as the escalation point for advanced SharePoint administration and troubleshooting (tier 2/3 support).
- Provide training, documentation, and mentoring to enable adoption and improve end-user experience.
- Continuously monitor and refine the M365 ecosystem for resiliency, governance, and user satisfaction.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field.
- 10+ years of IT experience with proven expertise in Microsoft 365 solution architecture and complex SharePoint administration.
- Deep technical expertise in SharePoint Online architecture, deployment, and administration in large, complex enterprise environments.
- Hands-on experience with advanced SharePoint administration:
- Site provisioning, templates, and content types.
- User profiles and permissions at scale.
- Term Store and metadata management.
- Retention, compliance, and data protection policies.
- Security, governance, and audit configurations.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Teams, OneDrive, and the Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI).
- Proficiency in SPFx, PowerShell scripting, Microsoft Graph API, and automation.
- Strong understanding of identity management, compliance, and governance in M365 (Azure AD, AIP, Conditional Access, Key Vaults).
- Experience with content migration tools and methodologies, File Share and SharePoint Online / Teams / OneDrive migrations using different migration tools such as Sharegate or other widely used SharePoint Migration Tools in the industry.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills with the ability to drive project execution, influence stakeholders, and mentor technical teams.
Key focus areas for this new role include:
- Expertise in Microsoft 365 solution architecture with advanced SharePoint Online design, deployment, and administration.
- Strong hands-on experience with Azure AD, ADFS, Conditional Access, MFA, and enterprise identity & access management.
- Proficiency in automation and scripting using PowerShell and Microsoft Graph API, along with hands-on use of the Power Platform (Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate).
- Experience and ability to lead large-scale migrations, integrations, and governance of enterprise M365 environments, including Teams, OneDrive, and Exchange.
- Well-versed knowledge of product features, limitations, and industry best practices to support a scalable model.
