Position Overview:
The Inventory Specialist for Expendable Assets is responsible for managing accountabilities for all expendable materials, ensuring compliance with VA policies and federal property management regulations.
Requirements
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage and control an assigned class of expendable materials, ensuring accountability and compliance with VA policies and federal regulations.
- Act as a subject matter expert on expendable commodity management, providing guidance and support across all services and service lines.
- Coordinate the resolution of logistics problems and serve as the central point of contact for new expendable supply procedures.
- Analyze data related to demand history, program requirements, and current stock levels to inform inventory management decisions.
- Utilize well-established inventory principles and methodologies to intervene in the supply system based on fluctuations in usage rates, costs, and availability.
- Engage proactively with customers to recommend product changes, substitutions, and additions to enhance supply efficiency and economy.
- Participate in strategic planning initiatives to support major and minor projects, ensuring that supply needs are met while considering cost and compliance variables.
- Conduct regular audits and inspections of inventory, ensuring accuracy and accountability for all expendable materials within the facility.
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience in inventory management or supply chain operations.
- Strong analytical and communication skills.
- Familiarity with VA policies and federal regulations.
This position is contingent upon contract award. Employment is not guaranteed and will proceed only if the associated contract is awarded and funded.
In addition, U.S Citizenship is required. Select applicants will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information and be able to obtain a government-granted security clearance.
