Roles and Responsibilities
Execute the design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering fundamentals and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product / program requirements.
Develop technical specifications for rotating equipment such as gearboxes and couplings used in Aeroderivative packages.
Collaborate with specialized rotating equipment manufactures on developing designs that meet our design requirements.
Evaluate Manufacturing Process Plans and Quality Control Plans to approve First Piece Qualifications (FPQ).
Travel to manufacturers facility to inspect manufacturing process of equipment and support Supplier Quality Engineers in FPQ process.
Support testing activities in GE Vernova's manufacturing facility.
Developing specialized knowledge in their discipline. Serves as best practice/quality resource. Has awareness of latest technical developments in own area. Contributes towards strategy and policy development and ensure delivery within area of responsibility.
Has in-depth knowledge of best practices and how own area integrated with others; has working knowledge of competition and the factors that differentiate them in the market.
Uses judgment to make the right call or solve moderately complex tasks or problems in areas of operational/product management, manufacturing, technology, or engineering. Takes new perspective on existing solutions. Uses technical experience and expertise for data research to support recommendations. Uses multiple internal and limited external sources outside of own function to arrive at solution.
Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience. May lead small projects with moderate risks and resource requirements. Explains difficult or sensitive information; works to build consensus. Developing persuasion skills required to influence others on topics within field.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering.
Minimum of 10 years or more of related experience in design, manufacturing, repair, field service, refurbishment, and installation of rotating equipment.
Desired Characteristics
Experience with relevant industry standards such as: API 613, AGMA 6011, API 670, API 671, ISO 20816.
Knowledge of Rotor dynamic analysis per API 684.
Experience with troubleshooting vibration issues with equipment installed at customer site.
Strong oral and written communication skills. Strong interpersonal and leadership skills. Demonstrated ability to examine and resolve problems. Demonstrated ability to lead programs / projects. Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs. Established project management skills.
