Job Details

Our client, a leading financial institution, is seeking a Lead Business Systems Analyst (BSA) to join their Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) team. This is a high-impact role for a data-savvy professional who sees data as a strategic asset and is passionate about driving value through actionable insights and analytics. This job is W2 only, no third party candidates will be considered.

As a Lead BSA, you will collaborate across business and technical teams to understand needs, define data-centric requirements, and manage a robust product backlog. You'll play a critical role in supporting the development of solutions that power enterprise-wide data-driven decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the primary liaison between stakeholders, Product Owners, and Agile team members.

  • Gather and analyze business needs; develop and maintain detailed Features and User Stories.

  • Create and document source-to-target data mappings and technical requirements.

  • Lead backlog refinement sessions, ensuring stories are ready for sprint planning with clear acceptance criteria.

  • Support the team in identifying and mitigating project risks and impediments.

  • Collaborate with application BSAs, Scrum Masters, and data engineers to deliver business-critical solutions.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent military experience.

  • 5+ years of experience as a Business Systems Analyst in a Data Warehouse environment.

  • 1+ years of hands-on experience writing and executing SQL queries for data analysis.

  • Strong understanding of EDW concepts and data mapping (source-to-target).

  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.

  • Exceptional organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.

  • Prior experience leading other BSAs on cross-functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in the banking or financial services industry.

  • Hands-on experience with Snowflake and AWS S3.

  • Exposure to tools like DataStage, Infogix, Python/PySpark, and Tableau.

  • Familiarity with data modeling tools like Erwin or similar.
