Our client, a leading financial institution, is seeking a Lead Business Systems Analyst (BSA) to join their Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) team. This is a high-impact role for a data-savvy professional who sees data as a strategic asset and is passionate about driving value through actionable insights and analytics. This job is W2 only, no third party candidates will be considered.
As a Lead BSA, you will collaborate across business and technical teams to understand needs, define data-centric requirements, and manage a robust product backlog. You'll play a critical role in supporting the development of solutions that power enterprise-wide data-driven decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
Act as the primary liaison between stakeholders, Product Owners, and Agile team members.
Gather and analyze business needs; develop and maintain detailed Features and User Stories.
Create and document source-to-target data mappings and technical requirements.
Lead backlog refinement sessions, ensuring stories are ready for sprint planning with clear acceptance criteria.
Support the team in identifying and mitigating project risks and impediments.
Collaborate with application BSAs, Scrum Masters, and data engineers to deliver business-critical solutions.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent military experience.
5+ years of experience as a Business Systems Analyst in a Data Warehouse environment.
1+ years of hands-on experience writing and executing SQL queries for data analysis.
Strong understanding of EDW concepts and data mapping (source-to-target).
Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
Exceptional organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Prior experience leading other BSAs on cross-functional teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in the banking or financial services industry.
Hands-on experience with Snowflake and AWS S3.
Exposure to tools like DataStage, Infogix, Python/PySpark, and Tableau.
Familiarity with data modeling tools like Erwin or similar.
