The Planet Group is seeking a fulltime permanent Workday Finance Manager. This is a fulltime permanent position. This is NOT a contract.
Workday Finance Manager Permanent position
Location: Minneapolis, MN onsite 2-3 days/week is required. local or relocation only - 100% remote or weekly traveler won't be considered
Job Details/Project Details: Our client, a long-time Workday HCM and Financials customer, has an urgent need for an experienced Workday Finance Manager who has a strong background in Finance and Accounting. They will oversee the day-to-day operations in support of the Workday Finance and Adaptive systems. The Finance Manager is highly visible role within the Finance and Information Technology departments and plays an integral part in the continual evolution of our Workday systems. The position provides leadership to a team of system analysts, providing mentoring and guidance in support of optimal results for team members and system stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the development, planning, support system and processes to provide global ERP support infrastructure for Finance and Planning areas within Workday & Adaptive ecosystem.
- Manage complex projects working closely with the business stakeholders, IT Project Management Office and consistently deliver application projects with a high level of quality and functionality that meets the business stakeholder requirements.
- Own overall inventory of reports, interfaces, conversions, enhancements, forms, and/or workflow (RICEFW) for the associated systems.
- Responsible for hiring, professional development and performance management of direct reports. Lead career development and succession management efforts to ensure retention, motivation, and engagement of current and future team members.
- Manage outsourced work, consultants, and other internal/external relationships.
- Make recommendations on strategic direction and roadmap for the use and implementation of Workday, as well as coordinated third party systems. Collaborate with business partners in identifying opportunities to streamline their operations with ERP solutions.
Requirements:
- Workday Finance Manager/Lead
- Strong experience in Finance
- Accounting experience
- Workday Financials experience
- Adaptive Planning experience
- 4+ years experience implementing and supporting global ERP cloud implementations for Finance and Planning applications. Workday experience is required.
- Functional experience: ie, configuration, BPs, and requirements gathering
- 2+ year experience with Composite and Financial Reporting
- Demonstrated experience with leading cross-functional, cooperative efforts with team members across departments.
- Proven people management expertise in managing a team of diverse professionals.
- Self-starter who thrives in an ever-changing, fast-paced business environment.
- Strong communication skill, problem solving and ability to work with stakeholders
Desirable/Preferred:
- Knowledge of general accounting and corporate financial reporting is preferred.
- Familiarity with Workday Studio and BIRT
- Workday certifications
