Responsibilities

Peraton requires Database Administrators - Tier 3 to support the Special Operation Command Information Technology Enterprise Contract (SITEC) - 3. Positions are located at the SOCOM Headquarters at MacDill, AFB FL, and at the TSOC and Component locations in the United States and abroad.

The purpose of the Special Operations Forces Information Technology Enterprise Contract

(SITEC) 3 Enterprise Operations and Maintenance (EOM) Task Order (TO) is to provide

USSOCOM, its Component Commands, its Theater Special Operations Commands (TSOCs),

and its deployed forces with Operations and Maintenance (O&M) services to maintain Network

Operations (NetOps); maintain systems and network infrastructure; provide end user and

common device support; provide configuration, change, license, and asset management; conduct

training, and perform Install, Move, Add, Change (IMACs) services. The responsibilities and tasks associated with each requirement play a pivotal role to USSOCOM, the CIO/J6 organization, and ultimately the end-user who operate around the globe 24x7x365.

The Database Administrator (DBA), Tier 3 support personnel needs a strong technical foundation in database structure, configuration, installation, operation and maintenance with experience designing databases. This position requires knowledge and experience in major relational database languages and applications, such as Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle and IBMDB2. The DBA/Tier 3 technician demonstrates the ability to pay keen attention to detail, possess a strong customer service orientation and with the ability to work as part of a team while having leadership responsibilities for that team including DBA/Tier 2. This position will provide Microsoft SQL and Oracle DBA support services, to include Tier 3 level expertise, as well as the planning, implementation, and monitoring of patching services for physical and virtual solutions. The DBA/Tier 3 supports the planning, engineering, installation, configuration, maintenance, operations, defense, troubleshooting, and repairing of database systems and servers. The DBA/Tier 3 will serve as a subject matter expert (SME) on these database systems and their integration with other software systems.

Duties include but are not limited to:

Lead the team with the operating, maintaining, integrating, and administering database hardware and
Lead the team with the operating, maintaining, integrating, and administering cloud
Providing leadership and technical problem solving for customer support of DB
Lead the team with the development, implementation, and maintenance of Microsoft Structured Query Language (SQL), MySQL, Oracle, UNIX-based, and Linux-based databases.
Supporting the implementation of databases using SQL, Active Server Pages (ASPs), .NET, Visual Basic (VB), JavaScript and any emerging on-premises or cloud database
Troubleshooting issues with existing or developed database systems and work with the appropriate personnel to resolve them.
Writing Stored Procedures and Triggers as needed in database
Developing and document system administration, database management, and user
Providing input to database policy guidance and, upon approval, implement necessary
Managing, monitoring, and maintaining databases
Approving requested changes, updates and modifications to database structure and data
Ensuring database integrity, stability, and system availability
Approving solutions for database backup and recovery infrastructure
Some positions may require shift work and/or an ability to work a non-standard work schedule to support the USSOCOM mission

Qualifications

Required qualifications:

5 years with BS/BA; 3 years with MS/MA; 0 years with PhD. Significant relevant experience will be considered in lieu of formal education.
At least two years of experience in a database administration role performing Tier 3 level support with no less than eight years working with databases.
Database modeling and implementation.
User interface development and user experience.
Ability to produce visualization of data for leadership decision-making.
Knowledge of at least one object-oriented programming language, such as Java, C++, or .NET.
Microsoft Office application skills to include Microsoft Access knowledge
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) 11g OR MCSE: Data Management & Analytics OR MCE certification is required
Desired qualifications:

Microsoft SharePoint database integration experience is desired.Target Salary Range

$66,000 - $106,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
