About the Role:
We re seeking an EHR Application Support Specialist to join the Virginia Department of Health (VDH) team. This role provides Tier 1 technical support for end-users of the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system and plays a key role in ensuring smooth operations and user adoption across VDH locations.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide Tier 1 support for clinical and patient accounting EHR applications
Troubleshoot and resolve user issues escalate complex issues to Tier 2
Support EHR go-live and post-implementation health checks
Perform system monitoring, maintain site health dashboards, and track issue logs
Handle user configuration, password resets, and Citrix troubleshooting
Maintain compliance with HIPAA and healthcare IT policies
Collaborate with clinical, technical, and vendor teams to ensure smooth EHR performance
Required Skills:
Experience with EHR / Electronic Health Record systems (Oracle Health / Cerner preferred)
Strong background in Helpdesk / Technical Support (Tier 1)
Familiar with ITIL, incident management, and SLAs
Understanding of healthcare compliance (HIPAA)
Excellent communication and customer service skills
