Description

The Missile Defense Modeling and Simulation team at SAIC is seeking a Modeling and Simulation (M&S) software developer to support the customer in a fast-paced environment with simulation-driven assessments and products. The candidate will be expected to be part of a team to maintain and develop new capabilities for a simulation used for integrated air and missile defense (IAMD) analysis. We are seeking an experienced software developer able to understand current and future missile defense architecture functionality and implement advanced concepts, capabilities, and behavior into the simulation. Ideal candidate would also participate in studies by utilizing M&S tools and providing insightful analysis.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited college/university in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in software development, with a demonstrated track record of designing, coding, and testing software applications.
  • Proficiency in multiple programming languages, with a strong emphasis in C++. Familiarity with C++11 or later standards.
  • Solid understanding of object-oriented programming principles and design patterns.
  • Proficiency in developing software in a Linux environment without an IDE. Familiarity with command-line tools and text editors such as Vim or Emacs.
  • Experience with software development tools such as version control systems (e.g., Git), build systems, and collaboration tools (e.g., GitLab).
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically and analytically.
  • Committed and dedicated to learning and applying new skills and technologies.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • U.S. Citizenship.
  • Ability to obtain a DoD Secret security clearance.

Desired:
  • Master's degree from an accredited college/university in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
  • Additional degrees in Mathematics, Engineering, or Physics are highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of mathematical modeling, simulations, or computational algorithms.
  • Understanding of network programming and protocols.
  • Familiarity with continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
  • Experience with Agile development and Atlassian products.
