Overview

Colliers Engineering & Design is currently seeking a Senior Project Engineer to join our Process Engineering team! This position has a possibility for remote work arrangement.

We provide a full range of process engineering services in the industrial sector, partnering with clients to design new process and manufacturing facilities from the ground-up or to debottleneck and maintain existing plants to optimize their use. From developing conceptual designs for early-stage site assessments, to providing full detailed design services and construction support, count on our team to develop a process solution that is both cost-effective and achieves our clients' goals.

Responsibilities

  • Solve diverse and open-ended design problems facing industrial clients.
  • Design process and manufacturing facilities.
  • Identify, select, and recommend process equipment solutions for clients.
  • Prepare material balances, flowsheets and design calculations.
  • Understand process instrumentation and controls.
  • Develop full set construction documentation for projects.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with multi-discipline design professionals on the project team, construction contractors, and external vendors.
  • Provide construction administration services including shop drawing review.
  • Provide project cost estimates.
  • May perform field inspections, research, measurements or calculations.
  • Attend client meetings.
  • Direct the work of drafters, designers, and/or other engineers.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in chemical or mechanical engineering from an ABET accredited university is required.
  • 6+ years of related process engineering experience with projects in the manufacturing and industrial and manufacturing markets is required.
  • EIT (Engineer In Training) certification is required; PE license is preferred.
  • Proficiency in process and mechanical design (manufacturing, material balances, P&IDs, PFDs, equipment arrangements, equipment specifications).
  • Proficiency with spreadsheet-based design tools.
  • Drafting experience with Revit, AutoCAD and Plant 3D is a plus.
  • Hands-on project coordination experience is a plus.
  • Ability to read, write, and understand English for purposes of comprehending written job-related communications and verbal instructions and interactions.
