Job Description:

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Administers Microsoft Windows Server systems such as Active Directory, DNS, File/Print/Terminal Services, Certificates and Group Policies. Maintains other critical platforms such as Nutanix, VMWare, and Cohesity.
  • Builds and tests new servers to design standards and maintains the optimum performance of all systems and services. Prepares new systems for network and data communications while ensuring that these system configurations meet the intended requirements and are compatible with existing systems and network services.
  • Maintains data availability.
  • Provides general server maintenance such as applying system patches, performing upgrades, maintaining access controls, installing operating systems and application software, troubleshooting system problems, and following proper disposal and decommissioning procedures for retired systems.
  • Provides escalation support for onsite Help Desk teams.
  • Performs routine and non-routine work on technical assignments.
  • Responds to critical after-hours support issues.
  • Stays current in their respective fields through reading professional literature and attending continuing education offerings, membership and participation in professional organizations, certifications, etc.
  • Records all requests and incidents in the ticketing system. Provides detailed and accurate documentation on troubleshooting steps taken, as well as resolution notes.
  • Promote high levels of customer satisfaction by following up in a timely fashion via phone, email, and/or in person.
  • Attends meetings as required.
  • Maintains patient confidentiality.
  • Performs related work as required.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Skills and Abilities
  • Knowledge and understanding of policies and procedures, including HIPAA privacy compliance.
  • Knowledge of computer hardware, software and data communications including compatibility and system configuration.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server Operating Systems, and Windows Workstation Operating Systems and networking concepts within Microsoft Products and TCP/IP environment.
  • Must be highly organized with strong time management skills.
  • Strong work ethic, reliability, good judgment, and a positive attitude.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team setting.
  • Ability to organize/prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, employees, and vendors.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively.
  • Ability to react calmly and effectively in stressful or emergency situations.
  • Ability to demonstrate compassion and caring in dealing with others.


Qualifications
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent. Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience in network systems management related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in system administration and troubleshooting networked systems including Microsoft Windows Servers, Active Directory, Azure AD, Office 365 Administration, DNS, TCP/IP, Networking and IIS. Experience in data backup systems, VoIP, Hyper-V, and VMware desired.


Physical Requirements:
  • Full range of body motion.
  • Sitting for long periods of time, bending over desks, reaching, and stretching for items.
  • Long periods sitting at a computer terminal and keyboard. May involve lifting of paper, computer equipment and/or peripherals. Must be able to lift/carry/push up to 50 pounds.
  • Very good manual dexterity for operation of keyboard and trouble-shooting computers.


Work Setting:
  • Work is performed in a combination of medical office, exam/procedure room, and surgery center settings.
  • Frequent interactions with others.
  • Requires travel to other offices; up to 25% overnight travel.
  • Performs after-hours work as needed.
